This app gives you access to topographic maps, tracknotes, photos, terrain profiles and heaps more information for nearly 1000 walks in NSW, check out the full collection of walks on www.wildwalks.com. The walks are found around Sydney, Blue Mountains, Kosciuszko NP and far south coast of NSW
The walks range from 3 mins strolls to multi-day hiking adventures.
Something for everyone from parents taking a stroll with their kids through to remote overnight hikes. Most walks are in National Park, State Forests or Council bushland reserves.
Every walk has a photo gallery, topographic map, terrain profile, tracknotes, details on getting to the trackhead, weather info, user feedback and more.
Download any of the walks and store the maps, photos and tracknotes on your iPhone. Once downloaded the information is still available for when you wander out of phone reception. And yes, there is a little blue dot on the map showing your GPS location, assuming you have a GPS on your device :)
Many walks are 'reversible'. So if the walk goes from Thornleigh to Hornsby, then click on the reverse this walk button and the tracknotes, maps and photo gallery will now take you from Hornsby to Thornleigh.
You can use the handy filter to choose walks based on public transport, length, grade, park or other criteria. Explore your walks in either list or map mode.
Any walk can be reviewed for 30 minutes for free. All wheelchair accessible and short walks can be downloaded and used for free. To download and use all other walks in the collection simply purchase a monthly ($2.99) or annual ($7.99) subscription. The subscriptions auto-renew, if you want to stop this please make sure you switch off the auto-renew at least 24hrs before it is due to renew. Is there a way to download gpx file from the app?
Amazing! A huge gift to all who love nature
Find nature walks presented on a clear map, see photos of key points on the walks, check National Parks warnings for the trail you choose before you head out, download the map to your phone so it’s all there when phone coverage lets you down. It’s all in one app. It’s brilliant. If I could give this six stars, I would. I’ve paid the annual fee to support the developer and unlock some handy features. Apps like this are a labour of love. Thanks to the developer for doing this project and all the people who’ve chipped in a few dollars to help pay for it. I have no connection to the developer, but I am someone who has connected with nature far more thanks to Wild Walks over several years. 🙏🍃
No updates for 1yr? Can’t open the app
Tried to update and it won’t update. Deleted the app and now I can’t re download it.

Very useful, can't complain for a free app.. must be lots of work to maintain it..
Needs improvement
The app is useable but it’s missing important features such as list of favourites walks and search button. Overall it’s an ok app
Half baked but still usable
It’s a usable app for maps of walks to keep you on the right trail. That it will do. But searching for particular trails is such a basic omission. And the user interface once in the maps is very limited. I will keep using it, but I don’t think it’s had an update for some time if at all, a shame, because the wild walks website is very informative.
App not working
App not working over long weekend. What a shame. It doesn’t provide any suggestions in any area or NP I chose. Subscription definitely not expired. I do not recommend this app.
So much potential. Please fix!
For an annual subscription, this app is very buggy. Great concept and excellent information bogged down by an awful app. Can't search, frequently when you find a real the link from mail doesn't work.... So many bugs but the basis idea is great. Please please get some help to bring this up to a working app.
Crashing App
Normally I’d give a 5* rating however Updated to iOS 13.7 and app fails all the time, need to fix it. Also need to have a search facility/option and a saved/favourite walks
