I have been a member of Woodforest National Bank for two years now and out of nowhere the app just stopped working.
I wanted to check my account balance and it does nothing, I have to call the Customer Service number to ask them why it doesn’t work.
I have had to do it twice meaning two months in a row now and what I am told is that there is no problem on their side.
Of course there is no problem on their side it’s the side that the customer uses that doesn’t work. I have even called the Bank Branch and their phone tells me that they are having a technical issue, and the Branch is closed.
I have had to call the main office and they sound annoyed that I am bothering them because according to their records the branch is open.
So why can’t I simply find out what my balance is? Where are their I.T personnel at? In the past I have had issues with Customer Service when I ask them to check on my account I am told that they are not authorized to check it like that that is how their system is programmed. Again where are the I.T employees at? In my whole life I have never seen a Bank so aimlessly operated with no clue as to what is really going on. I tried to pay a bill over the phone and when I read off the account number the customer specialist told me that they don’t accept any payments from Discover cards! I called the customer service number and I was told that they are working on it but until they can have their I.T people correct the issue for me to drive to the Branch and get a cashiers check to send my payment off. I don’t blame anyone but the Corporate Office for not being on top of what their I.T. department is doing.
After many such failures in their Customer Support Center I am now going to close my account and move it to a Real Bank, where I can go up to their ATM machine and withdraw money and deposit money. If Walmart is closed I can’t get my money without going into the branch office to speak with a Teller to pull my money to pay my bills.
Two days ago I called the customer service and again I was told that they had no block on my account and for me to reboot the account app to see if it would work, I replied in frustration because that is NOT customer service. A customer should not have to drive to go into the Branch office to have them tell me that they are very sorry and apologize for any inconvenience, okay so who is going to give me back the drive time and gas I used to go to the Branch to check something because they apologize for any inc

Transfer money from account to account
Whenever I try to make a transfer online, it never go through. I have to uninstall and install the app again just to get it to work
App doesn’t work in South Korea
I informed my local branch that I was going to Korea to visit family members. No problem they said app and card will be good to work. Card only works on military bases and not on local economy because of discover card need to insure you have Mastercard
Enough to Meet Needs but Unoptimized
This app does what I need it to. I can check my account and edit my information. However, logging in tends to be a chore. Since I use Touch ID to login, I’m constantly having issues where, when opening the app, my sessions will “expire” and will log me “out” while still giving me a touch prompt to login. Other times, I’ll open the app and the background will be dark with no text, so I’ll close and reopen the app. Sadly, when I do this, Touch ID will quit working and I’ll have to login manually and then reenable it. I have to do this quite often and it’s quite annoying when you want or need to check your account balance quickly. Please optimize your app. It’s usable, but buggy.

I can’t login, cause Woodforest isn’t sending a code to my phone! The app was working just fine! This is frustrating!
Woodforest is the worst
I’ve been using Woodforest for over a decade. I have never once received any notifications for fraud etc. They will just turn off your card without telling you. I have now tried to change the address on my account three times and it is still not fixed. Limited hours for customer service. The banks rarely answer their phones (they only let it ring three times before voicemail). Very limited on what is offered on the app.

I live in Richmond va and the bankers at Sheila lane are awesome. I am so glad I made the switch.
Decent Bank
The only app complaint I have is a lack of an option to dispute charges via the app without having to call someone or go in person.
App Got Worse
I used to be able to log in with Face ID upon opening the app and now I have to force close every single time I need to check my transactions. I plan to shift my direct deposit over to Capital One since their app is working as as this one used to. Keep in mind I have an iPhone 15 pro so the app should be 100% optimized. I hope to see this fixed soon.
