Working Copy - Git client

I use it together with TextStatic in a great workflow to keep work in my iPad when more convenient. Highly recommend it.

- Works great with Github. - Has a perfectly fine text editor embedded in the application. - Recently discovered that it also exposes the repository files in the “Files” application (it’s a little bit hidden there, but not the developers fault). This allows other applications to open the repository files, meaning you can edit your files in your favourite text editor. I’ve been using iAWriter to edit markdown files. The only thing that confused me at first were the buttons at the top that I did not find a way to see their description. At first I was not sure which button was fetch and which button was pull (maybe there’s a way to show their description but I did not find it). But now I know what each one means and have no issues with it. This application turned my ipad into a much more useful device. Not only I currently do some writing in it for my blog and programming projects documentation, but now I’m also considering that I could do some light programming in the ipad and then ssh’ing into my main development machine to compile programs.

As a developer, I've wanted this on my iPad for years - think of this not just as a simple Git client, but as a native, touch-enabled editing environment - that can also use external editors if you want to. Github integration is seamless, and the UI makes it easy to commit single files with a swipe - a very nice touch.

Decent app but not of immediate use to me at this very moment

I never wrote a single review in the App store but I absolutely feel compelled to write one for this app. it … is … actually … working. How?! xD After so many failed attempts on downloading various apps, and … what’s more … it was so easy !! <3 Ty so so much! Please post more (or start posting) on YT to increase your visibility. People need to know. :D

It’s really a great way to start to build and learn what needs to be done

This is the best Git client I’ve used so far. It’s actively developed and was an early adapter of AI features (including your own hosted version). The developer is also open to feedback, which is rare.

Straight forward UI. My use case was pretty simple. I just wanted to store all of my notes as markdown files while tracking revision history through git (remote GitHub). Setting up my GPG and SSH keys with GitHub is seamless. Although it’s strange there’s an option to integrate the app with your GitHub account giving it essentially full access. Just set up the keys. From there I’ve set Shortcuts Automations to push/pull my Git repos when opening and closing my markdown editor app of choice (IA Writer). The markdown editor in Working Copy is fine, but not quite as feature rich. Regardless, the main objective of this app is the Git client.

This thing unlike most other development tools just works straight out of the box and just an excellent job of displaying everything you would from a source client. History, logs, changesets you name it, it is there in an intuitive and easily readable format on your phone
