Wynd Sentry

We absolutely love this device. It serves many needs from guest comfort and safety to security. Wynd Sentry alerts via text messages and email which lets us know quickly if there is an issue at the property. The smoke alerts alone are worth the price of the unit and monitoring as it can distinguish between smoke coming from cooking, tobacco, vaping or marijuana. I can’t say enough about the value of the Wynd Sentry system.

I really like my Sentries it allows me to monitor my rental property when ever I’m out of town. It does take some work and patience to ensure that the USB connector seats properly in the unit when it’s wall mounted. Sometimes the USB connector doesn’t align well and it has to be adjusted. I also noticed that my units have to connect to the 2.4Ghz IOT network of my mesh router network to work and be set up properly. It for some reason wouldn’t connect to the 5Ghz network that I run. Once I got it connected via the USB cable and on my 2.4Ghz network it’s really been great to use. I plan to use them in other rental properties in the future.

I purchased four Wynd Sentry devices in November 2023 for use in our Airbnb unit. My complaint is mainly around my attempt to return the devices within the warranty period for a full refund per the warranty terms when I wasn't able to get the devices connected and functional. The devices were returned and I received delivery confirmation that the devices were received. However, I have still not received a refund and it is over two months later. Most of my follow up attempts have been ignored. The same thing happened when I originally was trying to return the devices, my messages were ignored and then I finally got a response on how to return them. The customer service is horrific and I feel like I have been scammed out of $600 ($150 per unit). My original sales rep has been completely absent after he made the sale in November, not responding to anything. This company seems to have a "collect the money and then ignore the customer until they go away" attitude or strategy. In addition, the setup of the devices was extremely complicated and didn't end up working. I was setting these up on the weekend and there was no customer support available to help. I spent 2-3 hours attempting to set up the devices but was never able to get them to work and I am a tech-savvy person. Also, I found out once I received the devices that they are not supposed to be set up outside, yet one of the devices we purchased was going on our outside covered patio which the sales rep happily sold to us. I can't believe that he didn't know the devices aren't supposed to be used outdoors. Overall, the experience with Wynd has been horrible, so I felt compelled to let others know so you don't fall into the same trap and lose your money. I still to date have not received the refund and I have not received a response to my last four follow up messages to Wynd, and can only assume at this point that I'm out $600.

Can’t set up sms alerts, app just tells me the phone number is invalid even though the country code is set. Tried to get support but they never wrote back.

I have their product since their first launch early this year and had some trouble getting it connected but Karen from customer service was super helpful and troubleshoot with me until it was fixed. Since then, they released a few software updates and it has been very stable for me. I really like that the device can tell when a guest smoking vs cooking and notify me right away. Makes enforcing on non smoking in my property a lot easier.

The product has improved significantly and is extremely useful. In the beginning product was buggy disconnection etc. Now everything is good. ☺️. My property is well protected. No more smoking damages.

I had all kinds of problems trying to install my Sentry device. No way to speak to anyone I’m customer service to get help; email responses are nonsensical and didn’t address my questions. Finally returned the device but have not received a refund and now customer service no longer responds to emails. No other way to contact them. I’m out $180 and have no device.

After multiple failed attempts in resetting my password. I have given up with no help from sentry. No one answers the phone and no one emails you back.
