An alternative controller app for your Sonos music system. Designed for iOS with simplicity and usability in mind. With handy Today Widget, ** Apple Watch App ** and Apple Music sharing extension!
ZonePlay aims to make the tasks you perform most often with Sonos as easy as possible. At it's core is a single screen summary of your zones with basic playback, grouping and volume controls and a quick pick list of your Sonos favourites.
ZonePlay provides full access to your network music library & TuneIn radio with full queue and playlist management functionality.
There is also a handy today Widget that allows you to view your zones and Play / Pause your music and control volumes without even launching the App.
Additionally for Apple Music subscribers on iOS 11 ZonePlay provides an action extension so you can simply 'share' songs, albums, playlists etc. from the Apple Music App to play them on your Sonos system!
NOTE: browsing / searching third party music services other then TuneIn radio is NOT yet supported.

As far as I know, this is the only app of its kind on the App Store! Play any song or sound file from your iPhone to Sonos using the share feature. It allows me to play directly from the Files app or from the Apple Music app (on Sonos devices that do not support airplay). I do not open the app itself a lot, but I use it a lot from the share sheet of other apps to send things to Sonos, and it works great!
It is so sad that this app is not getting more love on the App Store! this seems to have negatively impact developers, since there has been no update for three years. To the developers: your app is great! Thank you.
Still working on ios 16.3
I just upgraded to iOS 16.3 and the app is still working. It initially gave me an error stating it could not connect. Please connect to Sonos on your iPhone first. I corrected the error by going into settings on the iPhone for the ZonePlay app and turning off Netwerk access and cellular access. I then killed the app on the watch and then re-enabled Netwerk access on the phone. This fix the issue. Overall app is pretty good.
Doesn’t work with latest iOS
I loved being able to control Sonos from my watch, but since I’ve upgraded to a new phone and latest iOS it doesn’t work anymore. It won’t find my system even though it is on same network.
Gives me control via Apple Watch
I’m happy with it.
Totally useless, last update 2 years old!
!
Works BUT…
Works but will not stay open on iWatch like Apple Music does. Having to dig through the watch apps every time you want to control the music is definitely NOT ideal.
App connects, but Watch won’t connect
iPhone connected to Sonos just fine. The app installed on the watch, but when I open the app on the watch it says “Pleas connect to the Sonos system with the ZonePlay app on iPhone first”
Fatal bug
Can’t enter email address on first screen. Buggy
Not worth it; very limited Apple Watch functionality
Be sure to read the really long description of the app. Lots of words (blah, blah, blah) that make it sound like this Apple Watch app does a lot, but all it really does is “pause and play” and volume. You can’t even move to the next song, let alone choose music. Not helpful for me.
I guess I would not be so unhappy with its limited usefulness if I had paid $0.99, but is it worth $3.99? NO WAY.
Keep your money until a useful Sonos Apple Watch app is available.
A waste of money
Doesn’t find Sonos on my network
This app has worked once or twice but the vast majority of the time it doesn’t find my Sonos system on my WiFi network.
