Because they charge sellers so much the prices are high. And they are really slow to process any support…. Not a particularly pleasant experience. Sometimes it’s the only place that has what you want so you don’t have a choice but personally I’d avoid it unless i absolutely have no choice

You would not think service of multiple parties could converge to this level of absolute bad. But it did. I bough my girlfriend Xmas present with these guys. On Nov 17. Express delivery from the US to UK. You’d think all should be relatively easy. Nope. Currier selected, USPS. Arrives in the UK, then hold the package for “unpaid duties”. The tracking tool doesn’t allow for payment, it doesn’t allow contacting, even their phone doesn’t allow for contacts. The voice recognition system can’t discern between the S in “US” to an X (even the 1stdibs people tried it to no avail). And then all unravel. The dealer went quiet, the customer service was blissfully unaware. Eventually the package was delivered on the very last day before holiday to my company currier point, except the notification arrived only on Saturday. So my girlfriend xmas gift will spend xmas amongst hundred of other packages in central london. All the while I spend a good chunk on the Friday joyfully talking to 1stdibs customer service, HMRC and USPS automates voice recognition system. A prime collection of inadequacy and carelessness indeed
Incredible marketplace for some 1st rate items. I particularly love the furniture, with enough variety to be useful as a research resource. The downside is that prices seem inflated, but you can always try an offer.
