5e Companion App Reviews

Great App! A little buggy

KingBenguin on

United States

This is a fantastic, all-inclusive app for anything regarding 5e. However, there’s currently a bug that’s preventing me from being able to level up my characters, which is a little bothersome for a few campaigns when levels ups happen every session or so.

Utilizing this app on IOS is a chore

All my friends have androids, and I’m the only one with an iPhone. When they so graciously make a character sheet for me and try to send it my way, I can’t even look at it let alone port it over because the app keeps crashing. I cant even begin to know where to look in the actual app to find a way to import any kind of file. I scoured the Internet for fixes or ways around it and everyone keeps saying “just use dropbox and upload it from there” but there isn’t even a place to upload files in the IOS version of the app. I keep seeing everyone talk about features that the android version has that iPhone users do not, and that “it’s been this way for years.” Is there any plans for optimizing the app for IOS users at all, because I’m not going to buy an android just to access this app.

Importing characters

I’ve just switched phones and really want to move my characters over without having to recreate them from scratch… the android version of the app has the option to import cah files but the apple version of the app does not. Please fix this!!!! I love this app

Wonderful app but encountering a serious problem

LuckyC317 on

I love this app and have used it many times for many characters. However I am finding a weird glitch on the iPad specifically. I regularly use my android phone as well and the app works perfectly. On the iPad when I go to add items from the compendium whether I create them or not the app crashes. I’ve reinstalled a few times and nothing is helping. I’d love to give it 5 stars but this glitch is truly a detriment to the app experience.

Crashes on opening

Does NOT work with older devices. It used to! I used to use it all the time! I'm sure it's still just as useful to people on newer devices. Rating 2 stars just so the developer bothers with this review. Backwards compatibility is IMPORTANT. I just want to be able to use this app again

Can’t roll dice

Amazing tool

This is an absolute go to for new or experienced players the developer cares about feedback and tries to make it as accessible as possible! They aren't just trying to make money they are trying to get more people into D&D

Please add Grung Race!!

NonThiccPanda on

I love the app!! All of the features are simple and easy to use. I’m only caveat is that there isn’t a Grung race within the character sheet maker. Please add the Grung class!!

It’s ok

Shawnster_P on

From 5 minutes of testing: 1. Hp is not calculated correctly. 2. Ac is not calculated correctly. 3. It doesn’t know you’re armor is armor when it is in the equipment section. 4. It does not know how many spells you should have 5. No way to filter races / classes/ backgrounds, etc. 6. Does not let you pick background traits/flaws/ etc even though it clearly has the information (it can randomize them). Instead it allows for manual entry. 7. Does not calculate race bonuses correctly (for example: half elf +1 to any stats never gets applied). You will still need to have access to the written material for this to actually be useful. Even then, it will take all sorts of finagling to get it to say what you want.

Great but missing content

Akwave on

For one example it’s missing the subclass artificer armorer
