Works for a week then your device becomes a paper weight. Won’t work unless you delete and redownload the app, every dns app has this problem, don’t waste your money subscribing. I’m glad I didn’t waste more money on the vpn.

This app is like all the other ones, GARBAGE!
Compared to Chrome adblockers like Ublock origin, it feels much more limited. The filters cannot remove most of the "disable adblocker" pop-ups, the mobile app prompts on Reddit and other popup windows. It is really frustrating and made me miss uBlock Origin on Firefox Android.
I use AdGuard for iOS in conjunction with the mac Safari extension, although browser I know that solutions like you ublock origin, have some advantages. However I am used to the Apple ecosystem, and more importantly, I use these products in conjunction with AdGuard Home, Second to none in terms of DNS proxy/sinkhole/server. All of these products combine theological innovation, enormous flexibility and customizability, traits that are usually at the expense Simplicity of user interface. However in this case, adGuard for iOS, for safari Mac, and if you don't have AdGuard Home then AdGuard for Windows or Mac, Have a super modern and intuitive user interface, surpassing anything that comes close to the amount of control you can have through these products. Although not directly this product, AdGuard Home for example, while limited to DNS filtering (which gets rid of 99% of the ads if you customize it correctly including streaming services except for the DNS level), Is a robust solution that demonstrates this company's vision and ability to implement it. The fact that AdGuard Home is targeted towards tech savvy markets, for free, something that none of the competitors for ad blockers that are limited to browser or device have, put them at the forefront of technology where they get valuable in formation from advanced users and keeps them much closer to the market than any of their competitors. The overall strategy creates the opposite experience of the "car dealership purchase "experience . By providing real value for free (same clean and slick user experience), offering services that naturally enhance the product like cloud-based DNS or VPN, And only charging for broader packages of products (entire systems or family plans) and enhanced use charge (eg Adguard DNS with respectable free quota), understanding the market for AdGuard Home is different and therefore not limiting but leveraging that product despite not having revenue from it it, demonstrates highly advanced strategic thinking and understanding and product and marketing. Just to clarify I am not in any way affiliated with AdGuard (reading this I would wonder..), think they really deserve the credit for providing the best of the best solutions that tackled the problem from any possible direction. As a person deplete involved in product strategy management, I do hope that in the future, network level solutions will expand to include filtering of actual traffic (eg http/https proxy), Since thi
NextDNS is way better at handling DNS. It installs a profile and lets you enable or disable that profile from their app whereas I currently have an AdGuard DNS (weirdly a different product than AdGuard) profile installed on my phone, and AdGuard creates this hacky fake VPN situation when I try to enable it (rather than integrate properly). It’s a big bummer.
The AdGuard website has a good article explaining why this doesn’t work on browsers other than Safari but fails to mention the effectiveness of their premium DNS protection when used with other browser apps.
I’m not sure what happened with the app but I switched from AMPLIFI hd to the alien and now I can’t use the dns blocking option on my phone. I can get it to work for a few minutes but all the sudden internet stops. I turn of dns protection and it works again. No other devices have internet issues on the new router and again my issues only happen when I have dns blocking enabled. Also doesn’t matter what dns provider I use they all give me the same headache
I am very confused; this Safari extension literally does not block any ads for me. It’s useless.
I’ve used other adblockers that have worked consistently. For some reason, this one works for a bit then decides to stop and requires to open the app to update filters for 30 seconds.
Takes a few close site and refresh moves for it to set up and work. Allow doesn’t work at all on some sites.
