Sehr flexibel
Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit der App. Ich benutze sie zur Darstellung historischer Zusammenhänge und das funktioniert sehr gut. Die Mindmaps sind eine nette Dreingabe. Der Subway-View sehr praktisch (da vermisse ich nur dass Ereignisse ihre Dauer nicht mit anzeigen.)
Man kann sehr viel konfigurieren und auch neue Ereignistypen erzeugen.
Man kann sicher auch alle Projekte die Personen, Ereignisse und Orte zusammenführen müssen gut damit verwalten.
Manchmal wäre ein Zoom ganz hilfreich um grössere Zusammenhänge besser im Blick zu haben, aber das ist eher ein generelles Problem.
Beeindruckende Flexibilität
Diese App hat ein absolut beeindruckendes Update erfahren. Von Geschwindigkeitsproblemen kann ich auf iOS nicht berichten.
Da ich Ulysses und Scrivener nicht nutze, wäre ich über Export-Alternativen sehr dankbar.
Mit Version 2 habe ich meine siebenbändige Fantasy-Reihe strukturiert, nun ist meine elfbändige Science-Fiction-Reihe dran. Ich kann die App nur empfehlen. Absolut großartig!
Sehr mächtig, extrem langsam
Aeon Timeline 3 ist äußerst mächtig. Es bildet nicht nur Zeitreihen und Ereignisse ab. Es unterstützt inzwischen auch beim Verfassen komplexer Literatur mit Scrivener und Ulysses. Leider ist das Programm extrem langsam. Es dauert Minuten, bis eine mittelgroße Datei überhaupt aus DropBox geladen ist. Die iCloud kann man wegen Scrivener nicht nutzen. Jede Eingabe dauert viele Sekunden. Man erwartet heutzutage aber keine Eingabe-Verzögerung mehr nach jedem Tastaturanschlag. Diese Einschränkung gilt für iOS genauso wie für MacOS. Computer ohne M1-Chipsatz sind im Grunde ungeeignet für Aeon Timeline 3. Ist die Software schlecht programmiert? Im gegenwärtigen Zustand kann man Aeon Timeline nicht empfehlen. Ich hoffe, Version 4 ist wieder so flott wie Aeon es in Version 2 gewesen war.
