This app is helping me study, read and connect important movements, works and artists. Looking forward to exploring integration with Scrivener for writing too. I have some project management experience and this app seems to have that covered too. Fab.
This is a fantastic tool for writers, especially if you have a huge fantasy world to keep track of. The new improvements from Aeon2 make it much more user friendly, and the new views and different filter features are immensely helpful, and flexible. For instance, i use mindmaps fro creating family trees, and create relationships for each character to keep track of who is related to who. I have knocked a star off, as sometimes i find the item id a bit annoying, as im someone who tends to rearrange my timeline and delete events alot, and item identifires do not adjust themselves. Also i would like some more flexibility in calendar tybes besides greogorian built in. I have managed to make semi-accurate lunar calendars (as well as input sexagenary cycles) but i would like to see some more flexibility in the calendar builder itself, since its something i sometimes find restricting. Maybe an item type that could be appplied alongside the calendar when creating a timeline that would autogenerate as the calendar produces dates? I dont really know what i'm talking about or if that's even possible, but i still love this app regardless, and i'm looking forward to seeing where it goes in the future
This version of Aeon is no longer developed natively for Apple systems, and the user experience has therefore been sacrificed in favour of reaching across platforms. I sadly no longer feel excited about using it. As someone else has mentioned, this was the only program of its kind on Apple platforms, and now they’ve gone and watered it down to join the others.
This has helped me to keep control of complex and overlapping storylines and maintain the readability of my scripts.
Nice as an addition to Scrivener, but way too expensive.
Just to respond to the concerns raised here that it is too expensive: This is great software filling an important niche for creative writing, project management and other use cases - there is nothing similar of this quality as far as I can tell. The UI is intuitive and looks beautiful, it is a native app, which works on iOS and Mac. Most importantly the developer is actively working on it, and is very responsive to user feedback and requests. The software has a free trial on its website so you can extensively check if it’s worth the price. And the subscription gives you free updates for a year and if you do not want to continue the subscription, you can stop paying and *keep* all the functionality so far. I do not like subscriptions but this is the fairest way to do it. So really, what else do you want? If you think this is not worth the money, then this is absolutely your prerogative and you should definitely look elsewhere, but you will get what you pay for.
As a user of version 2 on MacOS, version 3 is way overpriced and I will not be upgrading. A shame that companies are pricing people out of enjoying their software. Deleted before even trying.
Looks v good from the trial but far, far too expensive. Half the price, would have condidered it. Lost a customer here, so result of your pricing is you get zero pounds from me.
