Quick and easy to set up, and effectively blocks the ai summary slop. Bliss.
Fantastic. Works exactly as described. The setup process is as simple as it could be (if you are already familiar with how to enable Safari extensions). I saw one review say the setup is unintuitive - which is true, but thats Apple’s fault for how they manage Safari extensions, not the dev. Probably the best 99¢ I’ve spent and I WILL be recommending this to all of my friends hahaha
It works, only problem is the lack of instructions. otherwise it’s literally perfect and totally worth the dollar for the service.
Doesn’t work at all. Total ripoff.
This works as described (hides the result) but just an FYI (or Q) that it does not appear to disable the AI function (as happens when you search with "-ai"). The AI overview loads for a split second and then disappears (on desktop). If you do not want to produce the AI result period, I do not believe this extension is the solution. (Also, perhaps it's just me, but I need to wait half a second for it to even be hidden. I ultimatedly disabled the extension.)
I never leave reviews I am for this extension as it’s such a relief that I had to support the dev who put this together. If you are at all bothered by Google’s intrusive AI Overviews, get this immediately. —————— You could just use a different search engine, but then you get worse search results. With this extension, YOU once again control when you search the web or query an LLM, which obviously have very different use cases.
i was worried there wouldn't be an app to get rid of the ai, but then this came up now i can look stuff up like normal again. hoping this catches on
Anyway to make this work on Chrome?
Does exactly as advertised. It gets rid of the AI overview that pops up as the first result. After the update, it also gets rid of the AI-generated responses to drop-down questions, but it’s a bit glitchy. When you click on one of these drop-down “people also asked” questions, the AI response will show up for a second and then the question will disappear altogether. I would prefer if there were a way to keep these questions visible and have the response shown be what non-AI Google would have, but I understand that may not be feasible from a programming standpoint. Be aware that you have to be on the latest iPhone version for it to work. I kind of wish it didn’t cost a dollar, but I’d rather give money to an independent programmer than Google for fixing a problem they created, and I appreciate that this developer not only takes into account feedback but also didn’t charge more. If possible on this app, I would raise my review to 4.5 stars out of 5.
