I tried out this app on whimsy during a difficult time coping with anxiety/stress/mild depression mixed in with being a long-term brain cancer patient. Trying to navigate myself through ups & downs with psych appointments, Zoloft, exercise, not even meditation seemed to be working out entirely. They all helped a bit, but this app absolutely blew my mind. My first session, 5 minutes, was not so great. I thought it a farce or something. But I signed up so I tried a second time… & it was epic. I can’t even explain it in words. I never thought it a million freaking years that a dot on a screen moving back & forth would somehow focus my addled little brain & allow it to process trauma in such a wondrous way. Having to use headphones makes it less helpful for sleep time; but it is beautiful & mind-blowing in the unraveling of trauma/anxiety/hurt/anger. It’s like you’re being brought to the source… & it’s freaking weird (& cool!!!) sometimes. The biggest of my experiences were 2nd-5th session… after that, the sessions come & go, depending on my own mindsets/situations. Transform & sanctuary are great. Hope to keep this app around & maybe adapt with other applications. I would recommend it to hospitals & cancer centers, too.
