Register your ALDI TALK SIM with with the APP. If your SIM is already registered you may start the video legitimation immediately.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Effective July 1st 2017 mobile telecommunication providers are required by law to check the identity of a user prior to to activating any prepaid SIM. Subsequently now an identity check is required in addition to registration. This can be done easily by video identification. Please have your valid ID ready when entering the video session.

The customer service can be random luck

Honestly for the video identification, sometimes using back camera to show the passport properly can be frustrating and look unclear. Overall my experience with the customer service staffs are patient and helpful, just this morning, she help me smoothly. Yesterday night 21.2 around 17:23- 18:28pm A male customer service staff gave me a hard time and probably lied to me that because of my nationality i had to come to ALDI store directly for activation, i found it ridiculous, i told him that i come to this country with legal paper work and even get my Meldebestätigung already (if my passport is illegal, i would be deported for sure). Please anyone be careful with this particular staff, he would refuse service with this lie. Please ALDI take a look at this, if you have the record, it might affect your overall customers experience, just because he is happy with power trip over non Germans who might be clueless with law.
