AmpliTube TONEX

Terrible wasp buzzing sound in this app. Sometimes it’s all I hear. Other times it’s in the background. The software on pc is better. I wish this would work on my iPad, it would be very convenient. Please fix and add new effects as well.

This is extremely unstable! Take about 10 attempts to get it to open without crashing then has connection issues. When it does work it could use way more features. Wish it was more like the full OS version. Pretty disappointing app overall. Was really hoping to use my TONEX One pedal with this app but just doesn’t want to connect or open or just not crash. In need of some serious help! I like a lot of IK products and things are good as far as hardware and using my MacBook Pro. But for the iPhone it’s literally useless! IK could really have a top place among other companies but their lack of support and things like this app just turn so many people off. I just don’t get why they put so much effort into one thing then not following up on another. It’s like they have half of a company that knows what they are doing and the other have is just non existing. IK Do Better!

TONEX it’s broken! I’m not sure since when because I have automatic updates set up, but I’ve been hearing noise and artifacts for a few months. I’ve tried different devices, different guitars, different cables, even different audio interfaces, but nothing works. I really hope they will fix this soon because I really used to love the app! I’ll be more than happy to give a five star review when a fix is pushed.

Suddenly useless, I have deleted and reinstalled. It shows the intro screen and then just closes with a pop in the audio. 0/10 cannot open. Purchases and free models from buying an iRig all down the toilet. Thanks, IK. Living up to your reputation.

Being able to use tonex max with my iPhone 15 pro and interface to play guitar is incredible. Love this setup. THANK YOU GUYS!

Noisy,tones not real sounding , and quite pricey. Stick with Amplitube. WAY better tones, cheaper, and WAY more versatile. IK just update Amplitube please. Been a LONG LONG time!! Updated 9/6/24.

I’ve used Amplitube for several years but started using Tonex for iPad and iPhone. It is really easy to use, the interface is intuitive, and the tones are so good. I’m not even subscribed to the Tonex captures and only using the standard IK models. I’ve been placed in a situation recently where I need to keep things simple and use the least amount of gear possible. I’m going guitar straight into an “amp” and then to the house PA. The built in compressor and room reverb are the only effects I use at this point. It sounds fantastic. All I need is my guitar, iRig interface, and the iPad, and I’m in business.

This app is amazing. It looks and feels just like the TONEX pc or Mac program. Easy to use with tons of tone models that sound like the real deal, especially if you pay a little more for upgrades. I almost knocked off one star because I paid for the max subscription but it did not unlock all built in models and could not get it to work with much effort and a support ticket. So I got a refund through Apple. I purchased the TONEX pedal which unlocks MAX on all devices (only the big pedal does) and everything now works perfectly and 100% unlocked. So I kept it at 5 stars because the good FAR outweighed the bad in this case. Keep it up IK, your making new fans everywhere.

I’ve noticed a huge improvement in the stability of it loading with the most recent update. Just wanted to notice this as a change since my last review.

During the last update, you can no longer save your settings in Logic Pro for iPad. I’ve contacted through Facebook and have sent a request through email on the website. I have not heard back yet. When will this be fixed is now going on two weeks?
