필리핀 타갈로그족의 언어를 필리핀어(피리피노어)라도 한다. 원래는 루손 섬 마닐라를 중심으로 사용되는 언어필리핀 정부의 장려 정책도 있으며, 약 1400만명의 모국어로 사용되고 있다고 한다. 또, 타갈로그어를 바탕으로 제2언어로 약 2500만명에 사용되고 있다. 옛날에는 타갈로그 문자, 현재는 로마자를 이용한다. 타갈로그어는 필리핀에서 쓰이는 언어로 영어와 함께 필리핀의 전국 공용어이자 필리핀의 유일한 국어이다.
