Nihongonomori - 日本語の森

Nihongo no Mori lessons are great - but there is *no way* on the app or website to control the quality of videos: a 9 minute video eats up half a gigabyte of my data (I tested it tethered to my phone as well). There is absolutely no need for 4k quality on my tiny phone screen. If there were an option to lower quality to 720p for example the website/app would not lag as often I'm sure. 5* if this would get fixed.

The volume and quality of material from 日本語の森 is astounding. Seriously! I recommend other learners to use this site as soon as they start studying for the N3 or above. It’s by far the best video lecture resource I’ve seen, and learning Japanese in Japanese is so much better in terms of understanding and immersion.

Great content and lessons. Really wish it had landscape support for the iPad.

If you turn on the first video, expand to full screen and just let it run then you could study continuously. But, if you do anything else outside of when I mentioned above, the app will crash or not work properly and boom, study session is over. Even the website doesn't calculate %complete for each study category and displays strangely but it does generally work.

日本語を教えていて、このテキストは使ってみたい内容だったので、購入したが、アプリの使い方を説明するサイトなどがあれば助かる。本の中にはごく簡単にしか書かれていない。一度モリタンにたどり着いたが、どうやってもモリタンに行けない。このままでは語彙は教材としては使えない。 アプリだけではなく、語彙の一覧表があれば見やすい。

毎日使っているのですが、アプリを切り替えて戻ると、インターネットが切断されるエラーが出ます。それほど困難な不具合ではないと思うのですが、なぜ今まで修正されないのか、よくわかりません。残念です。

The app makes you jump through hoops just to use it. What a disappointment for a great series on YouTube.
