Another Wobbly Charging App

Rynd on

What is it about EV Charging apps and poor implementation? Here’s another one with silly, avoidable bugs. Like not being able to edit where it lands on your home screen without it making a second instance of the app. Like asking for data about your vehicle based on a pick list but not having a complete pick list of EVs. Mine (hardly an unpopular MG model) is missing. Etc … I use this app to get invoices for accounts and because the app discounts the price charged for electricity. If it wasn’t for those two benefits I wouldn’t be using the app at all. Charging providers need to start paying developers for decent apps.

What’s my data for??

ChrisBaines on

Why does this app, if you create an account, require my name, address, date of birth, car details, car registration (although this is optional). They do NOT NEED THIS DATA for me to change my car. Either EXPLAIN IN FULL why this data is required, or STOP ASKING FOR IT. I’d recommend that no one gives them any data at all, or simply make it up and lie. When did you last need to provide your home address and date of birth to put petrol in your car????

Better than I expected after seeing other reviews

App download was ok. Registration was no harder than anyone else. Charging at Birchanger green worked first time and was significantly cheaper than other superchargers nearby at 72p per kWh

Anyone can terminate your car's charging.

Apart from one event I had a faultless experience registering on the app and then charging my car at Hopwood Park. However a driver finishing with the second connector on the device I was using inadvertently disconnected my car instead of his. That shouldn't be able to happen. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

Terrible interface then doesn’t work

Wouldn't accept my password which DID meet all the criteria. The charge started but just cut out halfway through

The most toilet of chargers?

Do you want to charge your EV? Well here’s apple green. The one thing you can count on is that you won’t be able to charge your EV. You’ll only find this out after they force you to use their app and steal your credit card details. The process only takes 30 minutes to set up and when you’ve finally gone through it you’ll be told you can’t charge.

Shocking.

How are companies like this given permission to provide electric charging services in motorway services. Doesn’t work. And luckily I was not a lone woman struggling to get home at night and relying on charge from this business. I wish them very little success. Will not use again.

Close to useless app and chargers. Virtually no form of payment or rfid card accepted. Go anywhere else if you can.
