Still trash
Tested the new version on iPad Pro 2020 and this still crashes ever time. Considering we pay for this I would expect the same quality as an app like nomad sculpt but sadly Armor paint is no good. Shame people are being ripped off.

This is a buggy product, the App crashes often when opening saved work. There is no way to rotate or move around the object. The keyboard keys does not work. The Pen support is awful and lags a lot eventhough I have a IPad Pro with the M1 chip. And lastly there is no blur, smudge feature which is key for what I’m looking for for 3D painting. $16 for this product is not worth it with the state of the app at the moment, it has potential but with the lack of regular updates and support I Don’t recommend this app for digital 3D texturing. I would recommend Procreate for the time being until this developer fixes the issues with this app.
It’s not there yet. Can’t even rotate or move the viewpoint. I wish it worked, the features are strong. I don’t think this should have been released yet as a paid app. But keep going guys! I’ll be waiting
I use the desktop version of this project from time to time and while not having expectations of feature parity, I was expecting this version would be a little more performant than it is. Interacting with even just the ui itself is a stuttery and frustrating experience. I’m sadly not sure how well the App fares in real usage as I just don’t have the time to deal with the frequent crashes and optimization problems even with the tiniest of meshes. I sincerely hope that the developer sticks with this project though. It could be an invaluable and frankly a life altering tool for some artists, if only it had more maturity and stability. I’d imagine there would be significant effort required to bring it to a point where it can be usable alongside if not instead of desktop counterparts. There’s a growing number of sophisticated 3d modelling and sculpting apps on iPad now, but the painting and material design elements are severely lacking. ArmorPaint could absolutely fill this void and complete the 3d Art pipeline, if only the updates would come.
Constantly crashes, definetly not worth the money. Maybe someday there’ll be a program that can do this sort of thing on ipad. But this isn’t it. Learn from my mistake, don’t waste your money.
