Toxic and Badly Moderated (it’s not Ai running the show despite what the creators claims)
I made comments in a controversial article and was mobbed by a huge bunch of people not liking what I wrote; full of nasty insults and personal attacks on me and leaving all the downvotes to me losing rep score hitting -100 meaning I’m restricted from lots of the apps features
I’ve had issues with apple in the past not publishing my reviews either so I’ll be watching if they let this be printed. And even if they decide no to I’ll make sure that any attempts by apple to silence my comments here are printed elsewhere. Not publishing this will just prove that apple has some sort of agenda much like this app does
Promising
The app is promising, and worth your time checking it out. The AI summary feature is excellent and a big time saver. There are plenty of features that I sense is missing. For example, the ability to add my own feeds, show articles chronologically, or automatically turning on AI summary. I hope more features will be added with time. It’s also great to be able to read, post, and interact with comments on articles in a centralised space. Looking forward to future updates!
Latest version killed the app
Devs, I don’t know what you’ve done but Artifact is completely down now. Nothing is loading since the last update.
Great substitute now for X/Twitter.
Normally used Twitter/X for all news.
This is going to slowly takeover that screen time.
Only gripe is the add plague. Otherwise. Very nice app!
My new go-to for international news
Impressed with: AI story summaries, breadth of news publishers, ability to scan one story topic across a range of publishers. Don’t love: the silly ‘level-up’ badges for elapsed reading time, not being able to open a story into Safari, not being able to login to publishers I have a paid subscription with.
Amazing News App
Artefact is so clever and finding and bringing forward news articles from high tech, to commerce to recipes that are tailored to my interests. I love it, hands down better than all my old favourites.
Reader Mode Always On
Lovely app which had replaced my other news readers of choice. One request, please make the “reader mode” a persistent change, the same way “auto dark mode” remains enabled until you disable it. 👍👏
Don’t download if you data ration
The video ads on the news sites stuck your data, so if you ration your data like me it’s a problem. It’s a pity cos it’s a great app which seems to feed me news I actually read. The comments feature is good too.
If it continues to eat too much I’ll have to delete it.
Great until comments
It was great until the home feed was flooded with comments. No option to turn them off.
