Really like Artifact to read the news. I just wish there were more ways to customise the algorithm, like adding preferred news outlets. I also wish the app could detect when a article links to another multiple times and then just recommend that article instead, this would filter out many of the low-quality garbage that just rephrases other articles.
have not found such a good proper app in years. it’s good.
Truly a news app that knows what i love to read
I really enjoyed Artifact until the recent ‘Twitter-ification’ of the app, which makes it hard to distinguish trusted news sources from fake information posted by the users. Deleted the account but will be happy to come back if the core of the app is reverted to the original idea.
Why do you need my phone number to create an account? Email? Google Sign in? Apple sign in? Forgot about privacy? Seems like this is a “publishers” app and not for consumers. Auto accept cookies?!

The Artifact news app is a great app to keep up to date with the latest news and stories that are important to me. The app does a good with AI job of showing me the news on the right topics that are relevant to me. However, the app falls short when it comes to recommending local news in the Netherlands. The app is also plagued by pop ups and ads on various news sources. These can be very annoying and intrusive. While this is a common frustration with many other news apps, it is disappointing that this app also doesn’t have an ad blocking feature to help solve this. Overall, Artifact looks very promising and I’m looking forward to new updates.
