Astra Jigsaw HD is a challenging jigsaw puzzle game including lots of jigsaws.
For each puzzle you can choose seven different styles of pieces and smoothly change the number of pieces from 50 to 900. In the most intricate style named Figure the pieces are shaped as animals, birds, fruits, toys, and other objects.
To make a puzzle easier to play, add the picture frame. To make a puzzle more challenging, turn on rotation of pieces.
To manage a vast number of pieces, you can use two playing windows. Use one window to make up a jigsaw and the other one to arrange or store pieces that you need not at the moment.
Select a group of pieces to move or neatly arrange them at once. To examine small pieces, use the Magnifying Glass.
You can save an incomplete jigsaw and later restore it. Up to nine puzzles in work can be saved simultaneously.
In addition to one thousand ready-to-use jigsaws, a jigsaw making feature is available. You can create your own puzzles from the images stored in the local iPhoto gallery. Or you can use the built-in search in the world largest image store Flickr. The maker is unlocked after purchasing four jigsaw collections.
Ambient sounds of ocean waves, chirping birds or singing crickets will make the playing more relaxing.
You can save the solved jigsaw to iPhoto gallery.

still the best jigsaw app available can choose amount of pieces, shape of pieces, whether you want the pieces to rotate (like a normal jigsaw) or not, whether you have a border or not you just have so many options and as you have two pages you can move pieces between, say like border ones or certain colour ones to the other page by double clicking and then go to other page and put together so you have lots of room compared to a lot of other puzzle games, tried quite a few and this is the only one i kept.
Played more than any other app!
If you love jigsaws this is the best app. I have probably played over 100 hours on this app. After completing the free jigsaws the paid ones are quite affordable. I love how customisable the puzzles can be. My 7yo son and I play jigsaws together because you can choose piece sizes, shapes, frame or no frame and whether pieces can rotate. We also found out by accident that you can play streaming music app in the background while the puzzle app is open.

I really love this app. I have two other jigsaw ones, but they frustrate me - and their collections are more expensive.
Maybe the developer could add a collection of seascapes ? Lighthouses, surfers, waves...

Great app
This is a great jigsaw puzzle app. Has kept me going for hours.
So-so
Lots if great puzzles but I had a LOT of trouble getting the pieces to click together. Then all of a sudden some pieces disappeared. Had to find the instructions to find them, very confusing!
Variety, challening, fun
I come back to this one in phases. You have to pay for more than just the basic puzzels but worth the money as you get loads. Can easily change challenge level and puzzle style.
Astra jigsaws
This is the best jigsaw app I've used, and there are several in-app sets of 100 jigsaws available for purchase, including stunning scenes from around the world. ( Worth every cent! )There are puzzles for children as well as art pictures and other topics. You can set the number of pieces from 12 to just under 1000, choose a jigsaw-piece shape set, and choose other options for each jigsaw. The instructions for use are clear and comprehensive, there are two screens to work with, one for the picture, the other for the jigsaw pieces. I've found it to be an excellent app giving hours of challenging fun and pleasure.
