Expensive
I like the software a lot but as a student $22/mo is just not reasonable for its limited usage scope.

Hell yeah
It works pretty well so far, I've noticed no lag. However, something annoying is whenever I use the magic gesture to move the canvas on Krita, it sometimes thinks I am double tapping and undos, which can be annoying but for the most part this app is great until I know whether or not I want to continue with art, which if I do, I will most likely switch to a drawing pad for the added features.
Sadly, doesn’t work with M.S. OneNote at all - glitches all over the place include marks that don’t shift with the page and the eraser sometimes working but often not.
Sure, sidecar is good. It piqued my interest in remote editing from my ipad using the desktop applications. It does everything it says on the tin, and somehow does it better than the native OS solution. Best subscription on the App Store this one.
So I just got the app and I watched the video and everything I decided to not do a free trial. But I haven’t gotten an account before and I don’t know how to sign into my own new account? It doesn’t say anything, i press get started and it takes me to the trial thing and it only says log in so how do I sign in?
This app is amazing. As an illustrator and someone who love the old ‘pen to paper’ way of drawing, this just took my iPad Pro and pencil game to a whole new level. There’s hardly any lag at all and because I’m drawing directly in Illustrator, there’s no nasty million anchor points like there were when I’d import from Adobe Draw to illustrator.

I couldn’t justify replacing my old RAM-packed late 2012 iMac just to get Sidecar, and now there is no need because Astropad does what I need really well with almost no learning curve. Painting with Rebelle 3 on the iPad is cool. I’m using USB connection—haven’t bothered to try the wifi because I’m using both the iMac and the iPad interfaces at the same time. Only lost 1 star because I was a little confused by the subscription process and I hate subscription software—so I’ll probably drop back to Astropad Standard when the trial is over.
Astropad has solved my dilemma of getting my iPad to mirror my Mac. It work brilliantly and with the Apple Pencil makes designing on all the Creative suite programs a breeze - faster and way more control than other tablets.
