Audubon Bird Guide Reviews

Im a superbirder!

Billybobsgumbo on

I love this app! I’ve identified many birds I didn’t even know existed! I recommend this app to anyone new to the hobby.

Something is wrong with the filters.

Cam Magee on

United States

Some birds that should show up when you apply certain filters to your search don’t. For example, going to “activity” and selecting “swimming” results in only the Egyptian goose and short-tailed albatross showing up. This issue wasn’t always present; it was introduced in a recent update. I hope this issue gets fixed soon.

High hopes but disappointed

Grit93 on

I thought the Audubon app would be superior for identifying birds in my backyard. Very disappointed in the photos. I’m looking at birds I can positively identify and comparing the bird in my yard to the photos in the app and they aren’t even close.

Super handy app

Apersoncommenting on

United States

It’s fun to identify backyard birds by call or appearance and I love how easy it is to learn more about the birds we see every day.

It’s okay, I guess.

Didn’t there used to be a recording function to identify a bird by sound?

Great app.

I love this App. It’s so many features to help explore birds. My favs are the sightings that can be reported and how easily it is to look up any bird for info, even bird calls!

New photos are horrible

Reader1983 on

United States

They did add a lot of new photos but instead of photos to help identify the bird they added a ton of very beautifully edited photos that makes it so much harder to identify a bird your looking at.

Can’t use unless you log in

Merlin ID doesn’t require a log in and it makes all features available regardless, with the only exception being syncing your sound files. Why can’t you do that? Guess I’ll stick to my physical Audubon bird book. Cornell Univ and Merlin 1, Audubon 0.

Great bird sighting app!

A free bird sighting and tracking app, works well and can it’s fun to use!

Impressed!

Really enjoying the app. Love that one can download the guide to use with no internet service. Playing the bird calls is great. Really impressed!
