Audubon Bird Guide Reviews

Poor design

Long Cove on

Canada

It is a strange app! I cannot find a way to list birds by last name first. Try checking Warblers and rather than having all the warblers in a list to enable comparison, a user has to know the first name of the bird, then find it, then find a similar bird to compare. Quite useless. Thank goodness it is free.

Can’t enter sightings for previous years

MazG4182 on

Canada

I’d like to add sightings for previous years but the date picker doesn’t allow the year to be selected.

Update messed up the app

Dave in Alberta on

Canada

Lost 3 stars due to the recent update. Mostly have enjoyed the app until a couple days ago. Updated it, but then discovered the downloaded field data wasn’t compatible with the update. None of the downloaded images or maps worked. I discovered that when I was out birding and days away from internet access to redownload the field data. NOT cool Audubon. Don’t invalidate downloaded guide data with your updates.

Finally!

I’ve tried a few apps recommended by others but they were too difficult for me to figure out (I’m not skilled in terms of technology) and finally went to this app, which I can manage pretty easily. I was able to enter my first two sightings. Now I’m on the hunt for more birds (actually, I always was :)

My go to bird app…

Kesh304 on

….but it would be better if I could search for species in the guide by 4-letter alpha code, a feature that Cornell Lab’s Merlin already has. Thanks!

Incredible App!

Ontario Birding on

This app is really helpful with learning bird calls and figuring out where certain birds live! An issue is that the sounds for the lesser prairie-chicken and tricoloured heron don’t work and the little egret has the snowy egret sounds. It would be much appreciated if you fix this!
