Avernum is the first chapter in an epic tale, the story of imprisonment, rebellion, and the struggle for freedom against overwhelming odds.

The Story:
You have been banished to the underworld, never to see the light of day again.
The surface is ruled by the cruel Emperor Hawthorne, master of the Empire. All of the known lands are subject to his brutal command. Everyone who speaks out, who misbehaves, who doesn’t fit in is cast into the dark, volcanic pits of Avernum, far below the surface. There, you are expected to die, a victim of starvation, horrible monsters, or simple despair.
But not all of the Avernites have surrendered. With magic and steel, they are forging a new nation deep underground. You can join them and fight for safety. Or freedom. Or even, if you dare, revenge on the surface-worlders who tried to destroy you.

Tres reussi, je trouve!
Refractaires à l'anglais, passez votre chemin. Le jeu est totalement en anglais et il y a beaucoup de textes qu'il faut bien comprendre pour pouvoir jouer. Ceci dit, le jeu tient ses promesses, c'est beau, tres ergonomique, riche, aucuns bugs constaté en deux heures de jeu. L'histoire est prenante. Bref, un tres bon jeu. En gros c'est un rpg style dungeon crawler avec des combats à la façon d'un final fantasy tactics. D'avance je sais que les notes seront catastrophiques pour ce jeu de par son prix de 8€ et le fait qu'il soit en anglais. J'imagine deja les commentaires du genre "tres bien mais je ne met qu'une etoile car le jeu est en anglais, pour ce prix c'est abusé" On ne vous prend pas en fourbe, on vous dit bien que le jeu est en anglais et le prix... Bah, y a pas que des jeux a 79 centimes, non plus. C'est un jeu premium, donc il est cher... Ca fait plaisir de voir un vrai grand jeu. Quant a la traduction, elle n'arrivera jamais, c'est certain.
Just what I was looking for!
I wanted to find a mobile RPG that was a real RPG, and not some scammy app full of pay walls. Not only does this meet that criteria, but the story line is awesome, the puzzles are compelling (except the lasers in 3; those were a pain in the A), and I could play the whole thing offline. I absolutely love this game. There’s not another mobile app like it. Great development work, thank you! I have played the whole thing, the first one twice, and I could play again. It’s a little different when you make different choices, too.
An amazing game and a great way to play it
I first discovered this developer on the computer, and was thrilled to discover that they had released this game on the ipad. It has character classes, an interesting and engaging story, and fun mechanics. The world in the game is absolutely enormous as well. The only thing that might be a turn off for some is that this game is text heavy, but if you like a game that is great classic role-playing with huge replay value, this is it.

I absolutely love everything about this game and my characters are only level 6 at the moment. Can’t wait to continue further and so excited to see there are 3 more to the series I can play after this! I will be quite busy having a blast lol. Game is upside down on iPad Pro
Love the game, but it plays upside down on the iPad Pro, this means that I can't play the game docked in the keyboard and have to then pick it up and turn it around. Please fix.

Something's wrong in Avernum, and no, it isn't pillars this time. No matter what I do, the party gets slaughtered at the top of the stairs into Fort Avernum. Right now, the game is a waste of money: don't buy until this is fixed!
