SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
• Qualified Mac or Windows-based computer running any supported EUCON-enabled application and EuControl 2023.11 (NOTE: The free EUCON 2023.11 software must be downloaded from Avid and installed before using Avid Control)
• One of the following connections:
- Accessible wireless network (5 Ghz Wi-Fi network recommended), or
- Lightning-to-USB 3 Camera Adapter + USB 2-to-Ethernet Adapter to connect an Ethernet cable directly to iPad (be sure to disable Wi-Fi on your iPad when using this connection type)

Nice BRICK

Worked for about 2 days then for no apparent reason, it stopped. It tries to do something, shows up in settings, all the right boxes ticked, matching internet router etc, etc… nothing. Nice brick you got there AVID😵

Great when it works, but when it doesn’t support is slow and subpar.

Waited till November to push a new update after introducing terrible bugs in an update in JUNE. I expect much better from a multibillion dollar software company. Avid, support your eucon team better, Christ. There is no excuse when a company of this size is this slow to fix their software.

All of a sudden it’s incompatible when trying to connect. Only had it about 3months wow!

Terrible for multi person monitoring

If you record with several musicians simultaneously who are used to controlling each of their own mixes, you can ONLY run one tablet or smartphone! Most musicians I work with are used to doing their own headphone mixes (with non Avid, even cheap mixing gear live and recording) and want to look after their own headphone mixes. In this cases you can supply ONE musician with an iPad. This isn’t conductive to sharing with 7 musicians in different booths/ rooms! Further more you cannot lock the iPad user from accessing ALL sends in Pro Tools which inevitably will become a disaster. Avid is likely worried about not allowing multi screens to take from their big control surfaces sales, fair enough. So please allow us an ultra basic end user app just to allow individual sends, send 1 for each phone. Today we had a well known mixer dedicated to only look after monitor mixes which is a HUGE luxury most of us can’t afford however each musician must STILL interrupt EVERYONE for each monitor change! This is madness in 2023.

Can’t get it to work

No idea why this won’t connect. I have an artist Color, mc mix, and transport. But this app can’t see eucontrol for some reason. And I can’t find any info online as to why this would be the case.

Update doesn’t work

Since I updated the app I can’t add my iPad on the EUControl settings anymore...

Only 1 device, can’t assign sends, no C24!

Why can’t 4 guys in a band all connect at same time from phones/tablets? Why can’t we allow just certain controls, ie: 1 set of sends for 1 guy’s headphones? Musicians can help take load off guy behind desk to look after own mixes while tracking. I can’t run my $10,000 C24 control surface with Avid Control at same time? For real!? This tech might have been cutting edge 10 years ago but it should be very mature tech at this point.

Best free App

Great app if you are working alone and you want to remotely access most fonctions.

Potential mostly reality?

Yes it drops out randomly and connects on whimsy. Fabulous when working so when it connects never unplug and never let battery die and you will have longest working possibility. The upgrade took me out as well. If it barely worked before the upgrade I can only imagine longer spaces of wasted connection time. Also with AVID be careful when renewing your subscription they funnel you into an upgrade without showing other options. It is a rip off as they will not let you unsubscribe even when you catch this mistake a day latter. It a 1000 dollar upscale disguised as needed. It is not. Still fighting with script reading CSR’s at AVID.
