I really like this app. I’ve been waiting for this, but I would like to learn WESTERN Armenian.. will that be coming soon??
I was never taught Armenian but decided I finally want to learn (I’m around 30) so I downloaded this app. I’m really enjoying it and am starting to put together basic words and phrases. I’ve never tried to learn another language other than French classes in high school so it’s definitely challenging, but I was able to ask one of my Armenian family members if they were hungry in Armenian and I felt so accomplished. I’m looking forward to learning more and being able to speak more Armenian with my family 🫶
This app is a really great format for learning for me, very similar to Duolingo, but it is unfortunately extremely glitchy. Most notably, when I get a sentence wrong and then am given the sentence to try again, the answers that are then flagged as correct are just random arrangements of the possible words and in ways that are absolutely incorrect. And if I then arrange my answer to match the made up “new” answer, the “correct” answer changes again to another nonsensical arrangement of words. So essentially, if ever I get an answer wrong, I have to keep guessing random arrangements over and over again to possibly finish with that level—and I may never get to finish a lesson as the possible random combinations become so numerous. Please fix this. This has the potential to be an excellent way to learn Armenian, but only if the actual answers suggested are correct!!
I love that this app is free and doesn’t have ads, but it could have better quality control. Some of the fill in the blank questions are clearly wrong because the English answers seem to have randomized words. For example, I know an answer should be “where is the water” but the answer they have marked correct is “water the where is” which makes going through the lessons very difficult. it doesn’t give you heads up about sentence structure or grammar or punctuation and I don’t see an easy easy way to learn the alphabet.
I wish it would give the answer’s transliteration when correcting a mistake. It does sometimes but not for all so it is difficult to absorb and correct my mistakes.
Extremely sad to me this is the “best app” to learn Eastern Armenian. I personally think it is not very good and extremely bugged but it has helped me a little bit due to my dedication to learning Armenian. I came to Armenia speaking almost no Armenian and they said how much this will help and boy is that a joke. They teach you random meaningless sentences you would never say, there’s no explanation or ability to click on anything, a lot of the sounds don’t play, lessons are missing, teaches you random words that are rarely used. I found it useful for remembering words and practicing listening.. that’s if it works. If you get an answer wrong you have to close the app and restart to get it correct because of bugs. Fix this app please.
Like other users, I am having issues with the app insisting that the correct translation for something is e.g. “not bad It’s here” (copied exactly, including capitalization). When I try to remember to scramble the words correctly to get the app to accept it, I end up doing this for answers that have the correct word order. What could be a good app is made frustrating and nearly useless by this issue.
Love this, and it is perfect for Eastern Armenian. I only wished it did the pronunciation every time I clicked on a word (for all the activities).
I really love this app (4-5 star). I was using it regularly to learn and practice Armenian. Unfortunately in last month or two the app has become unusuable. Like others have mentioned there are many bugs - like answers being grammatically jumbled so the app doesn’t recognize the right answer which prevents progression in lessons; app hard crashing; audio not triggering as it used to so you can’t hear the pronunciations, etc. Hopefully these issues can be fixed so the app can be usable again. Its very difficult to use in its present state with these bugs. Suggestion: I think it would be helpful if the answers also included the english(or the set language) translation or transliteration along with the armenian. As someone still learning and unfamiliar with the Armenian alphabet, the answer prompts only in armenian are hard to decipher and end up guessing at what i am doing wrong. I think it would help reinforce the alphabet to see it next to the translation.
