Banktivity's set-up assistant will import your old data and download current transactions from your bank accounts online.

BANKTIVITY GIVES YOU THE BIG PICTURE
Banktivity gives you a holistic view of your finances — checking accounts, savings, credit cards, real estate, mortgages, investments and budgets. It’s simple to update your accounts all at once with Banktivity's "Update Everything" button. Sync devices, fetch Direct Access data, security prices even currency exchange rates.

Banktivity automatically budgets scheduled transactions like paychecks and bills (categorized to your Envelope Budget). You’ll always know how well you’re tracking to your budget and savings with Banktivity’s visually-driven Budget vs. Actual reports.
BANKTIVITY REPORTS
Powerful reports give you all of the information you need to know for your financial situation. Track your net worth over time, see income and spending. You can even compare your finances to a previous period, like year-over-year or month-over-month.

BANKTIVITY SIMPLIFIES INVESTING
Banktivity's investment features manage stocks, bonds, mutual funds, IRAs, 401Ks, CDs and other assets. You can track buys, sells, splits, dividends, options and more. Banktivity calculates IRR, ROI and gains and losses. You can even pick which lots you've sold from.
Built-in report templates (Income & Expense, Net Worth, Payee Summary and more) dynamically analyze your finances. Assign tax codes to transactions to generate Tax reports (or export to TurboTax). Or view holdings in the Portfolio or Investment Summary reports —presented in comprehensive graphics that let you drill down for details, export or print.

Recent update issue

bflowolf on

I have been using the app for several years. Apparently a change happened in the recent update that has changed the amount entry input to a straight numeric key pad, its no longer like a simple calculator. You can no longer make an amount negative or add/subtract/multiply or divide amounts as you enter them. I find this change VERY unsatisfactory.

Used to be better

It seems that the programmers are hellbent to break what has been working well. I’m a customer and user since the beginning of the 90s and have seen a lot of good stuff, but also a lot of booboos. Lately, however, the latter has been more dominant. Working with customer support has always been a hit and, mostly, a miss (many cases over the years) and I have given up on some of the issues. What irks me particularly is the fact that they switched to a monthly subscription model, but without adopting the SaaS mindset not sprucing up their offerings. It is essentially the same since ever and hence feels very tired.

New amount keyboard

I’ve used Banktivity for years now and have appreciated the way it worked. However, I’m not a fan of the new amount entry keyboard. It’s too small and is hard to type with two thumbs when it’s on the left side. I’d like to see an option to change it back to the original. Please incorporate this in the next update!

Great financial app

App is as simple or as complex as you need it to be. I’ve been using this app since version 1 (ibank) and I see the improvement. The one thing I wish the developers would bring back is the calendar sync feature, I would love to see my bills due date in my regular calendar app.

I created the account on the computer. I know the username and password are correct and even did a password reset. But the iPhone app says incorrect. So this app is useless.

Initially Great, Not Worth Subscription Fees

Quantavo on

I have used Banktivity since the days of iBank and have been happy IGG’s products until recently. Direct connect can be clunky at times and certain banks/cards simply don’t work at all. I recently renewed and upgraded my subscription for two reasons, 1) Apple Card direct connect, 2) downloading current cryptocurrency prices. After reaching out to support for the first, I am told that Apple Card is a known issue and they are working on it with no estimate as to when direct connect will be functional with Apple Card. Since two of my other banks requires two factor authentication, Direct Connect is file to download 4 transactions a month. The rest are manually entered. After opening a ticket and waiting a week for an actionable response, I was informed that Banktivity only downloads end of day cryptocurrency values, and there is a delay. This makes the Gold Subscription useless. Call me bitter, but I have just paid $99.99 for a year of cloud sync. To me, it is just not worth the price. Lastly, on the topic of cloud sync, if you plan to let your subscription expire, make sure the document on your primary device is current. I was taking care of my mother following hip surgery and when I returned to my desktop after 6 weeks, it was 6 weeks behind. With no way to export from iOS, I was forced to reimport/recreate 6 weeks of transactions, prices and statements or continue to use my iPhone as my primary financial devise. I chose to recreate the wheel.

Best app on my iPhone and Mac

This app is my most used app across my devices. It keeps track of my checking, savings, and investment accounts and lets me see everything in one place. The bank downloads means I’m always up to date. The silver subscription is the best money I spend (aside from my Calendly subscription). I couldn’t imagine trying to keep track of everything without it.

Has potential on the iPad

I had been using the app when it was still called iFinance (going back to iFinance 3). Recently, I started to get back into personal finance and have spent significant amount of time and resources to get my personal finances back in an aggregation app. I have multi currency, multi user accounts as well as business, investment accounts, etc. So, I need a lot of capabilities to capture my true financial picture. On the onset, iFinance does cover most of the bases, but it is in the every day detail that issues arise. It’s important to mention that I use the IPad version exclusively as I do not have a computer. The difference between the iPad version and the desktop version is the source of my frustrations. There is no feature parity at all. The following is not a list of feature parity, rather a list of what experience with the iPad version) To name a few: no bulk edits on the iPad (cannot select multiple transactions and change them in bulk), cannot exclude select accounts from adding to total net worth (I want to track accounts that are not connected to my net worth), cannot seem to add pictures or documents to transactions, some international accounts are not being pulled in although the particular bank is supported (checking account for the bank pulls in, savings doesn’t - via Saltedge), overall very traditional UI throughout (editing transactions is a nightmare - changing any part requires at least 4 clicks), drag and drop (old concept I know) is not supported, managing categories is clunky at best (again way too many clicks - drag and drop would be so easy), same with managing accounts in the sidebar (again way to many edit buttons to click - drag an drop is the answer), investments seem complex to manage as well, but I need a bit more work with the topic before rendering a final verdict on that aspect of the app. This is by far an exhaustive list of issues - rather a first impression after working with the app to get at least 10 years worth of financial transactions over probably close to 20 different accounts into the app. Other than that I do love the potential. If IGG would spend more time to treat the iPad equal to the desktop version as well as heavily invest in a UI refresh that deploys some much needed efficiency improvements I will upgrade the rating. It’s not a cheap app at their most expensive plan (you need it for the requirements I have). Seeing the update of the app this week to support an unproven niche product such as the App

Does Not Sync

Asks for password to access file document in the cloud when it was not password protected. Logging on with ID and password should be sufficient to open file.
