Pros: everything is in English so you can use it abroad or as a foreigner in mainland China; it’s pretty easy to use and pay/track items; the customer service is the best: they get back straight away and solve any problem. Really impressed with them. Cons: sometimes the app crashes or doesn’t work and you have to reinstall it.
Whilst Baopals isn’t perfect it is an app that, in the face of the extreme challenges of online shopping in a foreign language, manages to be about as perfect as it can be and importantly, always seems to be interested in improving. The cons are that sometimes the translations seem less than useful and searching can bring up some unexpected and useless results. The pros are that, once you find what you’re looking for the process is simple and, best of all in my opinion, should anything go wrong there is a super-useful, efficient and polite support system to help you make it right again.
Years of living in Hong Kong and not being able to buy on taobao because I can’t read Chinese has been very frustrating. This fixes the issue! Love it!
Very easy app to use and more importantly is the customer service. Whenever you contact them, the response time is quick and they follow up until you are happy with the outcome. Makes life here in China so much easier.
After this update (Version 1.1.31), I cannot use an image to search what I am looking for. Also, please improve the the app so I can search through inputting text only. But overall, I am really happy with Baopals. :)
It often just randomly shuts down and everything is lost
This is not taobao in english, it’s another site like taobao, with alot of the same shops. They even use the same delivery methods. But theres a lot of stuff on taobao that’s not on here and the taobao sales do not apply here. The app is a little janky too, it often just closes while I’m browsing. When things are advertised it takes you to the blog site instead of the shop. And often when i search for something that was on the blog, it doesn’t come up at all, even with image search. But it’s not too bad.
