BaseMap: Hunting GPS Maps

I can’t get anything to work.. I can’t see property lines it only shows where I am

National land owner layer keeps asking me to upgrade. Please refund my money since the app does not work as advertised.

The app has potential only thing it’s hard to navigate and copy and paste coordinates on google maps if it wasn’t for that it would be awesome the gps part is to complex

I’ve been using BaseMap for over 5 years and I find it useful for my needs. I like the flat fee for the year and that I get more than one state for that price. I mostly use it for hunting public land in Wisconsin and just general info around where I live in Illinois. I have used it in several states. It meets my needs. I use the app for general information on the area I plan to hike, or am hiking, and compare that to what I’m seeing and what my magnetic compass indicates. Offline maps are a requirement for this and really are the only way to go if you have the ability to plan ahead. I would give it 5 stars for those points…but… I find the app to be very glitchy and unreliable. Several times a year, I have to remove the app and reload it before it will work properly (I just did this today as nothing would load, and I’m at home on good WiFi). I have also found that the compass is significantly out of calibration and unusable for navigation in the bush. This caused me to get lost for a short while on my first hunting trip with the app. I eventually went off the app and started navigating off a magnetic compass while using the downloaded maps for a reference. Fortunately I had downloaded an offline map in advance. If I’m planning an outing, I delete the app and reload it in advance, then download offline maps of the area. I’ve been burned more than once. I don’t trust the app in real time. Many of the layers are useless, at least in the regions I frequent, and I find that many of the layers will cause more problems with the reliability of the app. Keep it simple, lower your expectations, use common sense, and you should be good to go. Overall, I like the app and think it’s a good value.

I’ve found that as properties are sold or own information in the real world change, this app is years behind. I know of multiple properties that have sold and information doesn’t update. Please fix this or subscribers will cancel.

Love the program but information updates are lacking…….very disappointing considering cancellation

I have used this app for years and suddenly it stopped providing landowner information. Is this updated?

Much better maps the Spartan Forge and user friendly.
