Basement Watchdog CONNECT®

The app is very outdated. Limited features. The 2.0 Module’s only difference is it works with a mesh network, from what customer support told me. The module statues should be the very first thing you see when you open the app, not other products. Please redesign this app.

I installed this WiFi module and app for my Basement Big Dog Connect System and everything works as described. But like another reviewer I was interested in more information in the app about the last alarm received. Also, when the WiFi module sends a text alert it would be nice if it were a simple SMS text message. Instead, I get an HTML document that must be opened with a text font that is extremely small and difficult to read.

1) I have only modest tech skills but following the video setup link and reference to the instruction manual, I was able to link the WiFi unit to my BW Connect and smartphone app without difficulty. 2) It basically alerts you a loss of WiFi connectivity (which would be expected when the power goes out, unless you also have your modem & router on a power backup UPS), and alerts you to activation of the backup pump (providing your modem & router have power at that time).

I replaced my 8 year old “Big Dog” backup pump with the newer version in May 2019 to take advantage of the new model’s ability to use two sealed AGM batteries. I also ordered the WiFi module at the same time. Installing the WiFi module was quick and easy and in addition to sending alerts, the app lets me confirm system status any time I want.

I just received this Wi-Fi connectivity module from Home Depot online order. I was quite happy and excited to get it hooked up but the app will not let me go as far as to connecting to this device. The app keeps telling me it’s trying to connect to an unsecured network which is in accurate because this is my own private network and it gives no option but to go back so this is like Groundhog Day as every time I try app only gives the same answer without any second option. I will be returning this for a full refund if I don’t hear back from the developer in reference to this issue again I just installed it within a few minutes of opening this package.

Wish the app showed more status of system like current battery level, how often the pump has run, etc.., Current version doesn’t seem to give much info.

After app crashing the vendor fixed it and now works as expected. Easy interface to use and check the status of my back-up. Much improved!

I can open the app right after I download it but as soon as I try to log in, it crashes and won’t open anymore. I was happy with everything about this system until I tried the app. Fix the app please! Update 5/30/19: The app works now. Thanks!

The app worked to setup the system and email alerts, but now immediately closes when you open it. So you better hope you set it up like you want it set forever because there’s no way to open this app.

We should all bring legal action against this company for advertising and selling a product that does not work as advertised.
