Description

Research cutting-edge technologies, enact policies, protect ecosystems, and modernize industry to cut down carbon emissions. Manage your resources well and you might survive.

ACCESSIBLE, BUT COMPLEX SIMULATION
Will you favor industrial reforms, nature conservation or people initiatives? There are many ways to solve climate change and reduce pollution. But saving the planet is not an easy task. The more carbon emissions you produce the more extreme events you will have to deal with.

STEER SOCIETY & INDUSTRY
You have to balance the power-generating industry, social reforms, ecological policies and scientific endeavors. Will you transition from fossil fuels as fast as possible? Or will you focus on carbon capture technologies first? Experiment with new strategies and don’t be afraid to start again.
235 UNIQUE CARDS
Game cards represent inventions, laws, social advancements, or industries - each designed on the basis of real-world climate science. In addition, partially randomized world events occur, forcing you to adapt your strategy. Gradually unlock new cards in the game encyclopedia and chart your path towards a new future.
IMPACTFUL EVENTS, HIGH REPLAYABILITY
The world of Beecarbonize reacts to your actions. More emissions mean more floods or heatwaves, investing in nuclear power raises the risk of a nuclear incident, and so on. Learn more with each run and you might overcome environmental catastrophes, social unrest, and even avert the end of life on earth.

Beecarbonize is a strategic challenge that lets you experience phenomena shaping our everyday lives hands-on. Just how many seasons can you last?
NEW HARDCORE MODE
We are introducing Hardcore mode, the ultimate challenge in Beecarbonize for experienced players. In Hardcore mode you will face the harsh reality of climate change. Can you defy the odds and save the planet even in this extreme scenario?
ABOUT
The game was developed in cooperation with leading climate experts from NGO People in Need as a part of the 1Planet4All project financed by the European Union.

Beecarbonize Reviews

The more I play this game, the less I like it.

phukiu on

At first it seemed really innovative and interesting, but the more I play it, the more I notice its limitations, and the more annoying it’s fatuous crisis become. At this point I just deleted the app after being thrown a series of supposed global crisis that threatened the entire civilization, all of which were labeled “Garbage Landslides”. It’s dumb enough that the designers have decreed that such an event would ever threaten the global climate, but the fact that they re-use this insultingly fatuous “crisis” over and over speaks of a lack of effort on the part of the game designers, like at some point they just quit working and called it a wrap no matter how stupid the scenarios they had created. Such a shame. So much potential squandered for just another stupid tablet game. If you’re looking for a new version of solitaire, this might suffice, but if you were hoping for a remotely realistic model for the central human challenge of our times, this cartoonish caricature will disappoint.

game is great

Honestly one of the most entertaining games. the design is so simple and the UI is phenomenal, and while it’s very hard to play at first you get the hang of it and that’s when it gets addicting. I wish the team luck because they got a great game, they just need to market it more 👍

Super fun game

Awesome and fun, also no micro transactions as far as I can tell. Also educational and shows the difficulty of achieving carbon neutrality in our world

80's climate fear game

matearl on

United States

Game is well done and with more polishing can be a great game. With that said it can be overwhelming at first but after a few tries you will get the hang of it. I think the message of the game is to recognize we all have to work together to be in a better world but do not give in to the fear of global warming that is well funded by the WEF. "They" have tried to scare the public since the 80's and currently funding a false narrative of articles and control the liberal media to the point where you give into fear and do what "they" say to do and pay how much they say to pay. In an alternate reality where we as a society make all the right environmental decisions, it will never address the individual emptiness of the heart and soul. I believe the first step is to acknowledge this earth didn't just appear by happen stance but created by God as described in the Bible and to have a connection with God through The Lord Jesus Christ and turning to him in repentance and accepting his free gift of life today. The hope of this world is not in religion, government or science but in the finished work of The Lord Jesus Christ on the cross.

Easily one of the best games I’ve played

The game is complex but simple at the same time and I like how everything works to balance the gameplay and there are genuinely many strategies to beat the game.

amazing game!

Nipple. Face on

United States

zero complaints, except that it isn’t long enough. unique fun gameplay, free to download, simple rules, quick to learn yet challenging enough, zero ads, and the game’s encyclopedia tells you everything.

Great game, too easy.

This is most likely going to be short, since it’s pretty self explanatory but, once you get rid of the industrial 20th century factory, and use renewables [including windmills, hydro power, etc] it becomes really easy to deal with emissions. But it’s still an amazing game, and extremely high quality for a mobile game.

Excellent game

Similar to cultist simulator but more simple. Very fun but relatively short, didn’t take long to get all the win conditions. Some achievements or some sort of progression would add extra playability.

Worth playing

This was a nice little game that I enjoyed quite a bit. It was difficult at first, until I realized what I was actually supposed to do. The tutorial did a decent job of teaching the basic controls, but isn’t great at telling you what your actually supposed to be doing. But after a few games I understood the actual goal, and haven’t lost a game sense. Basically, you are wanting to get a hold of one of five special golden cards (upgrade cards with a star enough). Once you get one, you win. You lose if too many disasters happen at once or people starve. Just make sure you’re producing money faster than people, and try to avoid any cards that increase carbon production, and pretty soon you can negate or completely eliminate carbon production entirely, and from there it’s a cake walk to victory. Give it a try, it’s a relaxing little time killer that doesn’t force in app purchases or ads down your throat (I’ve seen none of either). Nor does it feel ‘preachy’ even though the game’s main purpose is obviously to try and make people think about their carbon footprint more.

Probably fun once you understand how to play

It seems like it could be a fun game once you understand how to play, however I could not get to that point because the tutorial didn’t really help me understand the basics of the game. This could just be a problem with me and not the game, but I don’t know.
