Best app for BJJ technical instruction

This app is my favorite. Highly recommend.

Wow!

I genuinely love this app. I love the pace, all the angles it shows, and, of course, the charts! I’m grateful it exists. I wish I could download the videos within the app to watch them offline, but it is no big deal. I recommend this app!

The best app for BJJ

Philip Rakesh on

This app is starting to be such a great helper in improving my rolls. I’m able to break things down and visualize how to make moves from various positions. Some of the things that I learn in class goes over my head and this app helps reiterate the nitty-gritty details that I miss. Been practicing for 6 months and this app is now helping me fill in the gaps I have in my game. I’m sure the next time I roll, I’ll be a bit more calm and think of ways to escape from different positions and even see openings. Max is also very responsive to my questions. Appreciate the help.

The best, “what do I do from here?” bjj blueprint

If you’re new to bjj or feel like you struggle in certain positions, this app is for you. It gives you a game plan on what to do in every positions. Feel like your side control game needs some work? Here is a blueprint along with videos for each move listed (from multiple angles and grips) to help you build a game plan. I think of this as my default set of moves. I try xyz from any given position. If it doesn’t work then it might go do some additional research on that position and try to understand it more but most of the time this is going to cover what you need. Whenever I decide to focus on a new area of bjj for a few months mastering the moves on the position from this app is my first stop. If your gym doesn’t have a great curriculum and just shows you the move of the week/day, you need this. If you find yourself getting stuck in certain positions when your 1 move doesn’t work, you need this. The only area that could really use some additional detail is the leg lock section. It’s not bad by any means but it isn’t as expansive or details as you might expect with leg locks being such a huge focus in modern bjj. That being said, I think everyone who want to progress their bjj should have this app. The consistency is better than trying to YouTube moves when you want to learn something new. The level of detail gives you a plan and an overview and doesn’t take 6-40 hours like an instructional. 5 stars.

Great BJJ help found here

The content on this app is set up in a very accessible way. Navigating through is straightforward. The videos and the paired flowcharts make it so you can quickly understand how the movements are all connected together. I’m on the newer end to the BJJ world. This app has been very helpful to and aided in improving my jiu-jitsu knowledge, skills, and abilities. Also, they are always adding new moves to the app making the value of it ever increasing. Fully recommend it!

Let’s you see how everything fits together

Max’s app and flowcharts are an absolute game changer. Compressive and detailed quick videos demonstrating the moves. The magic is in the flowcharts - gives you a logical sequence to go through. This app should cost a lot more. It’s not just an encyclopedia of techniques. The flowcharts show how techniques fit together (especially with your opponents reactions) and gives the big picture. I think this is the biggest value. It tracks well with John Danaher and Gordon Ryan’s instructionals. The videos are high quality, annotated, succinct, and show the technique from multiple angles. There are also written summaries for quick reference. It’s an impressive comprehensive reference. Max updates the app every week. He is also very responsive - there is a direct chat in the app with him. Probably the best BJJ investment I have made. My only gripe is that I can’t download the app for when I don’t have cell service. Honestly, I’d prefer other people don’t know about this app - like a secrete weapon - it’s that good.

Great app- worth the price tag

There are a lot of instructional options for BJJ out there but I would put this one in the upper ranks. It is super organized, contains multiple mediums (video instruction, written notes, and visuals aids), and the developer consistently updates it (every Friday). The videos are not talk laden and detail heavy which some might consider a con but I consider a pro. If you want super in depth and detailed explanations, buy a Danaher or other BJJ athlete instructional. The true utility of this app is to see how all the pieces fit together which it certainly accomplishes and continues to do so. People might balk at the price tag (I did) but it’s about the same as other high priced instructionals or a couple discounted ones and this is continually updated. Or you can do what I did- wait til a special occasion and treat yourself.

Great product!

I really enjoyed having access to videos and flow charts. I always buy the products from the website but the application allows for quick references to techniques and speeds up the whole drilling planning process.
