Blue Bikes Nola Reviews

Glitchy useless app

SusieSubways on

United States

I love the idea of blue bikes and used to have a subscription, but the app so frequently glitches and fails to connect that it’s useless for actual transportation. I’ve had several occasions where I stood on a street corner for ten minutes trying to unlock, before giving up and calling a Lyft. Sometimes the app glitches when you’re trying to end a ride, and then you’re forced to email customer support and hope they reverse an insane charge. About 1/10 of the bikes have wonky brakes or something else wrong, and there’s no way to know before you unlock. The bikes were much better pre-pandemic before they were electric, the current company does not maintain them well.

Overcharging

Dahwheel on

United States

Got overcharged $2 for out of hub when I left bike at hub. Also the bikes have really hard tires and you feel every bump. The electric bike is very fast !! Too fast. It’s on or off and on is full speed. Nice idea overall to have accessible bikes but they charge about $30/hour and get $10 holding fee on credit card which they reverse I can get self powered bike for $30/day from local shop I’ll try it to c how it goes

Not worth it

Tried using the app it won’t let you add more than one bike at a time. There was an error in processing my card Do Not retry the charge charged my friends card 3 times and mine 5.

Card can be temporarily charged but the ride doesn’t start

As the title says, my card was able to be temporarily charged but the actual payment for the ride would not go through. Bike wouldn’t unlock. Honestly pretty infuriating

Rip off “out of hub” charge

AJisthenewAR on

United States

How a city center is “out of hub” is ridiculous. It IS the hub. $2 rip off every time you ride it to anywhere you want to use a bike and not a car.

The app won’t load and I’m here trying to rent

Bad review

Battery dead. Handlebar grip not fixed to the bar.

Too complicated for me

BluBikeBlues on

United States

The app is confusing to me. It’s pretty difficult to do all the things required while standing on the side of a busy road. If you make a mistake entering information, it’s very difficult to correct the problem. You can’t simply update the credit card info, you can only add a new card which then has the exact same name. The motors on the bikes only work half the time. And the seat on mine was filled with water.
