Dead Platform
Pointless waste of time writing posts which don’t even get no audience. I don’t blame the developers I blame Elon Musk for what he’s done to Twitter & fragmenting social media into different groups.
The only viable successor to original Twitter
Threads may have captured popularity thanks to being a Meta platform, but it is fundamentally restricted by Meta policies. This is where Bluesky steps in. It is functionally superior to Twitter and Threads, but desperately needs more users. As of this review it’s at 27 million and rising, but still far off tipping point where X and Threads users feel like they can unpack and settle in. My advise would be just get your account and follow some people.
Twitter, but much better
Twitter is dead. Long live Bluesky
A Safer Twitter!
I really disliked how Twitter/X changed, with more abuse and hate. Bluesky seems to be safer, with genuine content and friendly users. I’ve deleted X now and enjoying my time mingling with followers on Bluesky.
Hate to admit it, better than the closest rival by a long shot.
I do however like how the app functions. Really smooth and streamlined. Your profile acts like an email address, you can have more than one, meaning you can have one for work and one from home. Love the Feeds function that allows you to choose subject matters that you want to appear. You can tell it what you like what you don’t like and it will try and show you more things it thinks you do like.
Poor App on iPad
Seems to be some tiny window and not a proper app at all. Much better on iPhone.
Problems posting videos
Lovely app except it won’t let me post videos from my iPhone. Didn’t have a problem with X.
Quick (but small)
Bluesky Version 1.96.1 (742) works fine on my “silicon” Mac running sequoia Yes it is a bit small, but feels very responsive I’ve been using a general purpose alternate client, which is very sluggish in comparison
A triumph in failure.
This app is not for iPads. Small and crossed over from mobile version. The app also wants to flick between landscape and portrait without being asked or moving screen. Click something and it will ANNOYINGLY change screen orientation. Just not good enough for a platform wanting to take on the big guns of social media.
