Description

BorrowMyDoggy connects local dog owners with trusted borrowers to help look after their dog. Anyone can join our community, but we all have one thing in common - we...
SHARE THE LOVE OF DOGS
Our aim is to leave “Pawprints of Happiness” on the lives of dogs and people. We truly believe dogs deserve the best life possible. For dogs, owners or dog lovers alike, BorrowMyDoggy is a win-win (or woof-woof) situation:
Dogs receive more exercise, one-on-one attention and, mostly importantly, love. Puppies also benefit from more socialization by experiencing different sights, smells and meeting new people.
Owners get peace of mind knowing their doggy is being taken care of by someone who loves dogs as much as they do, rather than for a profit. Owners have also shared how BorrowMyDoggy is an affordable and more kind option than kennels and dog walkers.
Borrowers enjoy happy dog time! Spending time with a dog doesn’t just improve your physical health, but your mental wellbeing too. Just 15 to 20 minutes with a lovable dog can relieve everyday stress and leave you feeling more calm and relaxed.
You can use the BorrowMyDoggy app to:
HAVE A SNIFF AROUND
Once you’ve signed up, you can use the app to search for dogs or borrowers in your local area. You can easily adjust your filters and availability to make sure you find a match that suits your requirements.
MESSAGE AND MEET UP
You can message other members to arrange a meeting (or a Welcome Woof, as we call it) to see if you’re a pawfect match. Trust is really important in our community, so we always recommend you get to know each other really well before a dog is taken care of by another dog lover. Your local park or cafe is a great place for your first meeting!

BorrowMyDoggy Reviews

Terrible app, great service

eieksksksi on

United Kingdom

I set up my account last week using the mobile site which is great. Have started talking to potential doggy ‘borrowers’, all is good. Decided to download the app so I can close down the open tab from the mobile site and get easier notifications in-app, but I am about to uninstall the app again because it is AWFUL. So basic and just not user friendly. For example, on the mobile site you can star and archive messages. Really important to have a way of organising your messages when you’ve sent loads but don’t have replies from 75% of them. You cannot do this in app, or I certainly can’t see a way. Doesn’t look like you can do anything at all except access all your messages without being able to sort them, edit your profile and see your account details. It’s utterly pointless, just taking up space in my phone memory!!!!

Can’t open app

Having to use the terrible website UX as the app no longer lets you log in anymore. Terrible user experience

Love the idea, but app is glitching

E28F on

United Kingdom

After paying to become a premium borrower, my app still glitches and messages do not seem to be delivered after owners have sent the message. No notifications are coming through and even after continuously refreshing the app, the glitches still occur. I love the idea, and would like to continue to spend time with dogs, but the app is making it very challenging.

I think only the owners should have to pay

I am someone who desperately wants to spend time with dogs. I know it’s not very much £12.99 a year. But the owners would normally have to pay a dog walker for their services - they’re getting a completely free service. If I had loads of money it wouldn’t be an issue but I don’t atm.

Useful, but so many missing features

Davidpfitz on

This is a handy app and helps me find someone to look after my dog if I need. But it’s super basic, and limited to chat sessions. Let’s say I have 10 “trusted” people in the app that I have met and they are marked as a favourite. I’d love to be able to do something as simple as log in and mark that I need someone to look after my dog for a particular weekend, and then let people come back to me saying yes / no. With how it is, I’d have to open 10 chat sessions, type it all out 10 times etc. Basically, look at the Bubble app and there are a ton of features that are great for babysitting that work for dogs too. This app is a great idea, but needs more functionality to be truly great.

Not about borrowing dogs anymore

chicaracer on

The basic concept has got completely lost The app is entirely populated by owners looking for unpaid dog sitters, at their convenience. I know on the past that wasn’t the case but it certainly is now. Very disappointing, I’m happy to help but there must be a 2 way street and I think the app should be pointing that out to owners. I’ve been shocked at the way owners who have never even met me want me to look after their dog for two weeks, for example. No safeguarding . if I was looking for a dog to abuse this would be a great way of finding one.

Just not convinced

I have only actually used the app a couple of times as the sign in never seems to work. The app is buggy and has less information than the website. I’ve paid to be a member so I can send messages however I’ve got a horrible feeling I’ve been scammed and I’ve rarely had a response. The ones that have responded seem to live in an area that doesn’t coincide with the distance stated?? Could be so much better with some time and money invested.

Doesn't work

I tried premium for 30 days but it didn't help matching me with local owners and their dogs. With or without premium, doesn't make a difference unfortunately.

Poor app

Nollies68 on

Great concept but the messages don’t come through on the app! So just when you think you’ve sorted something and found a lovely borrower they don’t reply because your message hasn’t got to them! This needs to be sorted as otherwise £50 for a subscription is a lot of money and a waste!

Messaging issues

alex57892 on

United Kingdom

The concept is great and we’ve met some borrowers but the messaging is useless on the app - I have to log onto the desktop browser because the inbox in app is outdated and doesn’t display new messages
