Description

Monitor your energy consumption anytime, anywhere with Bright.
For real-time data you need Glowmarkt compatible hardware (https://shop.glowmarkt.com/) - which works with either smart or traditional meters. People with SMETS2 (or E&A SMETS 1) meters can access their half hourly data with Bright for free, once they go through our verification process.
Bright lets you check your energy consumption, this could be electricity and gas usage from your smart meters, via the DCC or our Consumer Access Device (CAD). Clamp-on technology sensors can support electricity usage monitoring.
Our goal is to help you manage your energy consumption and spend more efficiently as we all strive to become more carbon efficient.

Works brilliantly with Octopus Agile, and outstanding support

Davey909 on

Use the app with the glowmarkt Display & CAD, with the Octopus Agile tariff. Provides real time kw/h or £/hr consumption and history per day/week/month. Nice UX. You have to email support to switch to Agile but response is rapid and helpful.

Great data analytics from my smart meter

mattyh123 on

Installed this when my energy supplier changed and my new provider couldn’t get readings. Much better interface and able to access the data that my provider couldn’t. It’s also free. Nothing not to like

Great but 1 glitch

Walter Studd on

United Kingdom

Fantastic app. I entered a new tariff incorrectly and the app doesn’t allow you to delete it so that you can correct it. Otherwise brilliant

Can’t log in

Jkmitchell56 on

United Kingdom

Since the last update it seems to have lost my login. Requested a password reset code ( 2 in two days as the first didn’t arrive). Now,trying to change my password and get a “ client error - check your input “ or words to that effect. I know the code is correct and the passwords match. Will have to try and find another app that works.

Developers should feel ashamed

Derek160 on

United Kingdom

Suddenly decides it won’t accept my login details for no apparent reason. Says I’m “unauthorised”. What utter rubbish this sorry excuse for coding has become. A dreadfully designed app which sadly undermines the Octopus customer experience. Don’t be fooled by that 5 star review. One star is flattering. How Octopus associate themselves with this garbage is incomprehensible. Deleted.

Update has broken login

PRed.88 on

United Kingdom

Since the update today the application complains that the login information is incomplete even though username and password are both populated correctly.

Just another smart meter app that doesn’t work

shazza122355£ on

Well, 30mins of entering my post code repeatedly for it not progress any further. So just another pointless, time wasting app. Promising a service that doesn’t deliver. Pretty sick of it to be honest. I just want to be able to sync my gas and electricity reading so we can monitor usage, save money, budget and have I little piece of mind.

Handy app

Good app for tracking my energy and spend. Was very helpful when energy prices were high, but also could do demand flexibility DFS and get a chance to when £1000!

Very Agile!

Recently switched to Octopus, then onto their Agile tariff, still waiting for Octopus to show costs in their app. Sent email to the address in the Bright app and within a couple of hours I know what I’m spending! Brilliant response time, thank you!😃

Great app let down by my energy supplier

DirkPlank on

United Kingdom

This app is good but, in my case, it is next to useless all because of the incompetence of my energy supplier, E.on Next. The app picks its data from a central database, the data for which is supplied by my, or your, energy supplier. For the two years or so that I have used this app and its dedicated Glowmarkt device, the data available to it has always been wrong. For the last six months, my electricity usage has been measured in minus amounts. Since the change to prices on 1 July 2023, my gas data is finally correct. But not the electricity. That is showing as much higher amounts than what I’m being charged. Trying to get through to the right people in E.on Next to correct these errors is nigh on impossible. They simply don’t understand what you are asking. So, as I said at the start, great app, but rendered useless by the incompetence of my energy supplier. It was suggested once on this app’s forum that the app should have the ability for the customer to override the energy supplier’s wrong data. That will take away my problem as I’ll simply overwrite E.on’s data with the correct amounts. But when will such functionality arrive?
