Can’t sign up for classes
Less than an improvement – – five steps back to AB circa 2010. All I want is an app that lets me search for classes, and know the pool schedule, & have easy access to my barcode. I don’t need or want to share my workout data, my personal information, like height and weight, etc. Just an app that makes using the gym easier.
It’s showing me classes from 2 weeks ago and won’t show current/upcoming ones. It defaults to the club I signed up with 10+ years ago and not the one I use most, despite both being favorited (can’t unfavorite the original). Shouldn’t be required to sign up with the app. The previous app worked way better, I rarely had issues. This new app is complicated and doesn’t seem to get updated.
Is it too much to ask for an app that makes finding and registering for group fitness classes easy? As others have said: you can’t change your home club on the app; searching multiple clubs is possible but resets each time you use the app (regardless if you’ve closed it or not); basic functions like cancellation are hidden in a kebab menu (why a menu with one item?); applying search parameters is slow. Classes can be added to calendar easily, eliminating the hassle of the last iteration, but, guess what? Classes also disappear from your calendar once they’ve passed. I for one like to use my calendar as an easy to see record of my class attendance. Also, the club location does not show up on the calendar- this may seem minor but my wife and I frequently attend classes in the same day, sometimes at the same club but often at different clubs. And what is the “Mark As Attended” button meant to do. In my experience it always displays an error message. I do not like that anyone can see the class roster. Also, no instructor bios or lap swimming schedule. Dreckitude.
Worst app ever! So complicated! There’s no way to sign up for classes at other gyms.
I agree with the other reviewers that the app is too complicated and requires personal info that’s completely unnecessary. I hope they have amazing security on this or they will be paying members after a breach. The best app they had was 2 versions ago when you could search for classes by a specific instructor across all of the clubs. The graphics and user interface are awful. The previous version had large simple icons making it easier to navigate. Anyone over 45 will struggle to read the classes with the light grey 4pt text.
Overall the app upgrade is nice - definitely more modern than the past one. But having to enter my heigh and weight felt unnecessary/I don’t love sharing more data than I have to! Despite being in the “normal” range of BMI on the app, the app isn’t qualified to determine individual health and I don’t think it’s appropriate to have that feature. Many gym goers have higher BMIs because of muscle mass and some people simply don’t need their gym app telling them they’re fat. Just seems like it should be optional at the very least….
I’ve been a member of this club on-and-off for the past 10 years. And this is the third app. And it’s so much worse than the last one. I like to switch around which club I go to and this one is so slow to respond and switch.
This app is an overcomplicated version of the original app and appears above all else to prioritize personal training sessions. Also intrusive on user data, asking for our height, weight, and birthday mandatorily with option to add photo. Why do our personal details need to be a in a gym app used to book gym classes, which, by the way, don’t even appear on the app either.
The new app is a complete joke. Unnecessarily complicated. I got my membership in one location but I attend classes in a different location. When I open the app it shows me by default the schedule of the location where I got my membership. I can’t chose my home club on my own like with the old app. Viewing the schedule with the classes is also unnecessarily complicated. Too many unnecessary features. Horrible! The old version was way simpler and efficient. Very often I want to browse classes in a few different locations and to choose where I want to go. With the new app switching from one club to another and viewing their schedules is clumsy, slow and difficult. I HATE THE NEW APP!
