Campfire FAQ
Is Campfire free?
Yes, Campfire is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Campfire legit?
🤔 The Campfire app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
It’s easy to use and very versatile. This is the best app to use between two different processing systems like windows and IOS, which I switch between often. The pricing is reasonable and customizable for what you need it for. The only thing that is lacking is the support for iPad or tablet, so I would like to see an improvement on that front. Since I like to work on my projects mainly between my laptop and IPad.
Great but NEEDS IPAD SUPPORT
I have been desperately searching for a free app that I can write my books and have my categories organized. This app is perfect except I write on my iPad! There is no support for iPad and it’s horrible! I have considered moving to a paid app because I can’t stand the interface. Very unfortunate!
Frequently Crashes!
The app features in itself are great to have everything organized, but it continues to keep crashing every second, it’s bothersome!!!
help
it's a good app, but i can't open it anymore? it crashes every time i click on it. i don't know what happened, it doesn't need an update.
iPad support seriously lacking.
It’s always looked like someone just put the vertical phone app on the ipad…. Not the best feeling, especially if you wanna work on something with an ipad keyboard attachment. I like the Campfire system for the browser, but in all of the apps, it feels like it’s always trying to slowly sync all the time. The whole reason I’m actually writing this review is, however, that the app for iPad isn’t even opening.
Bit Glitchy, Does The Job
Title says it all, really. It's a bit glitchy and sometimes doesn't save stuff properly so I'd reccomend copying your text to your clipboard or notes app temporarily to make sure it's not deleted if the app makes an oopsie, but it's a great way to organize things especially if you've already written them in your notes app and want to organize them better. I can't wait to finally get started on the D&D campaign I've been wanting to write for years!
iPadOS desperately needed.
whenever I’m at work on break or lunch and want to work on something, I simply cannot use the mobile interface. I have a keyboard for my iPad but the app doesnt work in landscape mode.
Amazing App
If you're looking for a website that can help you plan your book, Campfire is amazing for it. There's a free version and a paid one. The free one allows you to do what you need and is still amazing! I absolutely love it and do recommend!
Really handy!
This is a really great app however, the UI is a little clunky. I also wish there was a little more guidance built in to show how to use certain aspects. Like the Arc section seems a little confusing and it doesn’t seem very different from other sections of the app. For the most part though, this is a really useful app and it’s worth checking out.
Best writing app
I’ve used campfire writing for years at this point, both the website and the app. Overall I’d say it’s definitely my all time favorite app to store my manuscripts and continue writing. Especially when it comes to the time tracker that shows how much time you’ve spent on your story. I’d recommend this app to anyone who needs a good place to organize their story, and really map out their entire world. Some things do cost but it’s not some insane price and all of it is worth it.
