Carrier Battles Reviews

史実重視の思った所

馬否 on

Japan

I can select the Japanese button of language, but screen don’t change at all. If there are ways of displaying Japanese, would you please teach me about the setting ?

Awesome! This is carrier, flat top, C. V., all in one

This game here is fantastic. It is a traditional war game that reminds me of the best carrier battle games I've grown up playing (the ones that I've listed in the title to this commentary). You can play this across multiple formats if you get a single in app purchase NB: there are no coins or gems that run out or be replenished. AND you can compete hotseat OR compete with people from all over the world and it plays asynchronis NB: you don't need to be online live to play others in games, you take your turn and then it updates the person you are playing that it's now their turn via an alert. This is very much like playing in Play By Email/Mail (PBEM). Another huge plus for me is that YOU DON'T NEED AN INTERNET CONNECTION TO PLAY THIS nor any of the scenarios. As I mentioned, this is game is based on the kind of naval WWII war games that I remember like: carrier, flat top, C. V., Fire In The Sky, and many other World War II naval games. This is exactly what I was looking for. AND, - I can't believe I can play it on my phone digitally and not have to worry about knocking counter stacks; - There is no math for me to do; I can play a friend via hotseat or one across the globe some where; - I stream it to my TV from my phone; Play it on my PC; - I can switch up play and continue any of my open games on my Mac/PC, play it on my iPad or other tablet. That is Awesome. Just a fantastic game and has everything that i was looking for. I have been in the hospital a lot over the years and now i have a "real" war game that's always with me (because my phone is always with me). This matters to me personally. It's got everything that I've been looking for in a WWII naval war game and it is still being actively supported in all of its formats and systems (and the community is growing). This is hands-down a five star game for its topic and most of its execution for me. I Duck one star for two reasons (at this time): - The air raids tutorial doesn't cover sending your planes in waves nor why you should do so nor does it explain why you have two air strike boxes (so you can attack separate targets at the same time). - I hate interfaces that don't flip to the right landscape orientation. This user interface is set so that it is fixed to one landscape view and if you flip it to my preferred landscape view (volume buttons on the top, if you know what I mean). The developer/s are active, k

Between the app updates and iOS updates this game has become unplayable. The game board jumps around, pieces will not move or snap back to previous position. Was very stable before the recent updates.

One of the best war games on mobile

This game excellent, ive been looking for an in-depth war game based in the pacific for a while, this has what i was looking for, everything from commanding task forces down to damage control is shrouded in finest detail, the options to create “what if” scenarios make the game all the more interesting while the addition of subs and seaplanes add the cherry on top. I would definitely recommend this for any of those who enjoy playing pacific theatre games.

Incredible Game, A Few Little Asks

I must say, I personally believe this is by far the best WWII naval simulator on any mobile platform. No PvP with a single ship on one map, no unrealistic placement of ships from opposite sides of the war in the same fleet, just a single or two player game where one can sit down and enjoy possibly up to an hour or so of realistic combat, where even one little air strike can set all your plans up in smoke and there’s the constant pressure of wondering where the enemy is and quite possibly what the enemy has. There are definitely a couple things that could absolutely make this even better though. For one, a couple late-war scenarios would be nice. Things like the Philippine Sea and Leyte Gulf could be pretty neat to experience, especially as the Japanese-changing history in one hard-fought battle is a really neat idea in my eyes, especially that kind of difficulty that would make for a fantastic experience, sitting down and maybe having to play the scenario several times to figure out how to take advantage of AI responses to your actions. Also, a custom mode-I would love to be able to take a lot of the ship classes from the war, choose a map to play on (say, Midway, Guadalcanal/South Pacific, Philippines, etc.) and put together task forces from both sides to see what happens. It would be really neat to be able to go beyond history and create what-ifs in the incredible engine that exists already and see what we can do with it! Overall, amazing game, one of my absolute favorites, and I look forward to what may lie ahead for it! Also love seeing active devs that actually care about their game, it’s a rare sight in naval games for mobile platforms and really refreshing to see! Best of luck in your future endeavors! —MB

Great hex based old school strategy game.

Lots of realism and depth went into this. Very enjoyable game.

Everything you would expect

Oldbucki on

Very good adaptation of a classic board game covering carrier battles to the iOS. Everything you expect in a carrier game is there including historical ships and maps, CAP, searches, dive bombers and torpedo bombers, all at a good price. If you like Pacific carrier battles, go ahead and get this.
