I will not sign in to read sports news from a public broadcaster that I fund. Ridiculous.

An account is now needed just to read the stories. No other CBC app requires, why is one necessary?

For the love of God, PLEASE stop making us sign into the damn app every time we open it! It’s incredibly annoying and totally unnecessary, especially if we are just looking to read articles and not watch videos or stream content.

I have no problem with needing an account to use, but now the app requires the user to sign in every time. Very annoying and not needed! Signing once a month or a week should be good enough.

Over the years, this app has been temperamental at best with very limited information. Search is useless. Yes it’s nice to have stories we might not read elsewhere, but when we want to be informed, we want to find what we are looking for. Recently, the app has gone from meh to useless and frustrating. Apparently, we now have to log into our CBC account to see any content on the app. And we have to log in each and every time the app is launched. Who does CBC have developing its apps? Why even bother! I give up and have deleted the CBC Sports app. If the corporation butchers its other apps this way too, they’ll soon be getting the boot from my iPhone as well. Good grief!

Why is it now required to create an account just to view content. Also I find it annoying that the app cut’s off music I am listening to.

Sports coverage is horrible, biased and limited. 95% is Canadian Olympic sports or specific coverage only of Canadians in international events mo one else. CFL coverage is brutal. Weeks of games not reported at all. Little hype of big games and little news of significant interest. Just ignored. Golf coverage is virtually restricted to only events where Canadians have entered and may have done well. Ryder Cup coverage and other significant golf tournaments are often ignored if no Canadian in them or the Cdns have missed the cut. Absolutely no coverage of international rugby. World Cup of Rugby in Paris 2023 was completely missed within the Rugby portion of the app. This was a huge event with outstanding rugby. Canada not in it so no coverage. CBC sports is atrocious. This app is pointless.

It is impossible not to see the headlines of news articles or highlight reels while searching to access videos or live streams of the events! This is a serious spoiler for viewers!!

Watching games live can be a good thing if you don’t use things such as Chromecast, and just Bluetooth on and play the game like on radio. The one thing that is fishy about this app is I constantly hear usually at the second period or first. At the end of those periods of hockey games, I hear a woman saying hello. I also hear the sound of chaching of money as well. All that I’m trying to say is I hear the sound of money at the start of the second period of these hockey games. It usually happens when the second period starts. I’ve heard this twice now ever since listening to game two, three, and four in the Golden Knights and Panthers Stanley Cup finals.

I typically use this App to stream the Leafs games on Saturday night and definitely during the playoffs. It is great … however, during the final 10 minutes of Game 5 last night, untimely commercials interrupted the feed while the play was still going. This happened more than once and only during the end of the 3rd period and into overtime. As a result, we missed minutes of live action on multiple occasions. CBC was airing Sportsnet’s broadcast, but they were definitely CBC commercials. Come on CBC … use the tv timeouts and stoppages in play to bombard us with advertisements like every other station.
