ChargePlace Scotland

Terrible app never lets you log in but go to change password and it lets you in. Can hardly do anything on it. The network is always down when you need it. Now getting charged 3 months later for charging sessions that we were told were up to date. Support is hopeless and are clearly told to read from a script. Had a electric car for 7 years but ChargePlace Scotland are so poor and unreliable just like their app that will be switching back to petrol. If you can’t charge when you need to easily what’s the point.

Something tells me this roll out was rushed and ill tested. You just have to look at the recent reviews. So with the new UI. Doesn’t let me login. Initial search of the map screens do not show any chargers. Update: after a few weeks it seems to have sorted itself out. Login now working fine and charging stations showing ok on the map. Back to 5 stars :-)

The app requires you to sign in every time it is used and more often than not when you try to sign in you get an error message and “try again later”. Not much good when you want to charge your car. Chargeplace Scotland used to work well. Why it has become so useless I do not know.

Need to sign in every single time I open the app. UI looks better, but UX not great.

Shocking app, locked me out twice in one day and couldn’t stop my charge and had to keep phoning the help line how are we supposed to move over to full EV when we have to keep putting up with this service from a company that dominates all public charge points in Scotland!

Terrible payment app for electric charging! The sent me round the houses to get charging and took multiple £35 credit cards charges off me before starting to charge. The app told me my charge was £16 but my credit card was charged £46. A disgrace to electric car users. Won’t be using these chargers again

App just sits at the splash screen endlessly.

Went on holiday to Shetland and had if it hadn't been for the Power Point in Tescos we would have been in trouble as this App was awful and would not connect to any charger we tried. It also had a very annoying habit of freezing meaning you couldn’t use it. Will think very carefully about planning trips that rely on this app in the future.

Genuinely the worst app I have ever had the ‘pleasure’ of trying to use. Trying to plan our route today, the app won’t load any charging locations on the map. Then it crashed. Logged me out and can’t log back in as apparently my email address isn’t recognised? It’s always been a shambles.

The iPhone app updated, and now I can’t log in, I can’t recover my password, I can’t even set up a new account using a different email address. I phoned and emailed Chargeplace, sent in the error messages, no response by email after a week, despite the auto response saying there’s a 48 hour turn around. The advisor on the phone said there’s no issues but they’ll report it anyway. All in all a very poor experience.
