Characters fall from the top of the screen - you have to tap them and draw them correctly to score points. Just don't let them reach the bottom, or - kaboom! Let five of them drop and the game is finished! But the learning continues; you can review everything that you saw, complete with stroke order diagrams and testing at your own pace. Characters you made the most mistakes on are highlighted at the top of the list.

This app is really good and it’s fun and it’s free! By the way, I cannot see my high score on the scoreboard. My high score was: on Beyond HSK-A 20901

The BEST chinese character app.

Been using off and on for over 3 years. This app is the best. Teaches stroke order, visual, and pronounciation. Fun to use and an effective way to learn and review characters. Will continue to use for years to come. Suggestion: add a “words” character pack.

Meh

It's okay. Don't like that the definition of the word scrolls across the screen. I'd rather see the pinyin word the whole time to help reinforce the association between pinyin and character. There is no option to turn off the character preview, which means that you are never sure if you are actually memorizing the character without a hint. Also the next strokes are hinted by small marks on the initial strokes, again providing more of a hint than I want. When I try to do the characters on my own on pen and paper, I am finding that practice on this app has not been very effective in helping me to memorize.

Really awesome app. Fun! But most importantly, educational! I think this is a very efficient and addictive way to learn Chinese for everyone from a little kid in kindergarden to a high school or university student studying Chinese to a mid-aged mom from Hong Kong using her spare time to brush up on her simplified characters! Thanks for making such a great app for me!!!
