A dream come true!

I have so much love for this app. It is exactly what I have been looking for pretty much my entire adult life, and it’s even more vital to me now as I attempt to heal the damage of burnout and dissociation, and learn how to accommodate chronic illnesses and late diagnosed neurodivergence that keep my day-to-day highly unpredictable. Most other productivity apps or sites I’ve tried, and I’ve tried dozens, require too much setup, have distracting or overstimulating designs or features, or just serve as another source of shame which leads to avoidance. I am discouraged by reminders that I am behind or late or just not being productive enough. I also struggle to determine priority or frequency of tasks, and if a task gets hidden until the due date? Absolutely setting myself up for failure. Some habit trackers I’ve tried are satisfactory, but I often fail to maintain them for one reason or another. Every time I try a new app, I say “I wish it would just let me track how often I do something and give me the data, not tell me when to do it and make me feel bad when I fail!” And then I found Chronicling! Easy to setup, no unnecessary frills, simple but pleasing design, very reasonable cost for premium, a genuinely convenient watch app!!! The data/graphs have helped me recognize patterns and get an idea of what my instinctual productivity is like, notice what I tend to avoid or gravitate towards, identify periods of high or low activity and correlate them with my health or mental state or whatever else, see where I might be wasting energy on lower priority tasks and burning out before more important things, and also just remember when I last did something! I’m still populating it with all that I want to track, slowly integrating things to avoid overwhelm, and getting better at consistently logging, but I don’t dread doing it, and that means I am far more likely to remember. It’s such a new app, too, and I am so excited to see how it grows. I don’t know if the dev created this with any of the things I’ve mentioned in mind, but I thank them profusely either way.

Incredible UI. Would be great if you can add reminders as notifications. Like everyday at 8pm you get a notification to check your habits. Sometimes I forget to put them on a day that I’m busy

So Amazing! Could use convenience features though!

This app is so amazing at doing exactly what it needs to do. The only thing missing is to sync with ICloud so I can also track through my MacBook. Hoping the developer adds this feature!

Perfect Habit and Tracking App

I’ve been looking for an app exactly like this for so long. I’ve downloaded dozens of apps to help me with habits while also tracking things I want, all while not being crazy expensive. I’ve finally found what I’ve been looking for. I’m so thankful I found this app so I can stop searching and focus on self improvement. :)

Deleted the app after update

This app now is worthless. After the update it got rid of the number of days prior to 2024 This app is now completely useless to me

Average > Streak

I really appreciate the emphasis on averages over streaks. This is much better suited to how I want to track the various activities in my life.

Simple and easy to use

I really like this app, I’ve tried a few different trackers and this one is much more chill and feels inviting to use. Two suggestions: 1. Allow for a mode that removes time and just uses the date for tracking an item 2. Allow for half completions I’m using the free tier (just 3 trackers) and it’s very functional for my needs. Should I need more the pricing is fair for the upgrade.

Not bad…. But needs improvement

Some of the App is done very well The Events tab is extremely disappointing and I would give that a -10 if I could Having time listed on the events tab and having all of these dots on a graph with no way to drill down on them is useless to the user. By hitting the magnifying icon it brings up a calendar but am Unclear what the calendar is supposed to represent in relation to the app

Best app in its category.

I would never usually spend $40 on an app but this one is definitely worth it. I was using a program called “when oh when” for tracking life events and event logging but I found it a bit clunky. I would recommend this app. It is visually eye catching and allows for grouping of things along with allowing you to see when you last did something on your watch. The reason this is perfect for me is because I can use the iPad app on my MacBook and the watch and iPhone apps and they all update each other. This is something when oh when really lacked. Thank you for such a great app. Keep up the great work!

Clear, exceptional, elegance

You’d be surprised, but it is hard to find an app that lets you simply track the things you did and record how long ago you did them — as well as add notes as separate entries. Most similar apps I have used in the past have seemingly been abandoned, so it’s refreshing to find an app in this niche genre that is actively being developed. Also the pricing model is very reasonable. And the fact the app has a beautiful UI and a useable watch app so you can track things on the go, is a huge benefit as well. Chronically is very early in development but quite capable already. I love that you can quickly swipe right to complete and swipe left to add notes or change the date. I do appreciate that the app has multiple colorful icons to choose from too. This little touch, that so many developers overlook, makes the app feel more personal to you, and lets you change it according to your mood. I do have a few desires for upcoming versions that I’d like to throw out there: — A search field for quickly finding a “category” (which is equivalent to an activity). — Spotlight integration so you can quickly find a category to add an event without first opening the app and looking for it. — A tagging system for additional filtering capabilities — for things you want to easily find and track at different times of the day, in different locations or contexts — across groups, I.e., Morning routine, @work, etc. — Allow for an optional picture attachment to each event. — Additional icons for foods (i.e., fruits) and various exercises (i.e., push-ups), personal care (i.e., toothbrush) — which I was surprised were missing in the huge library — and/or allow emojis to be used for category icons as a supplement to the icon library. — Sync for just user chosen individual categories or a group of them to show up on the watch. Not every category/activity needs to be on your watch. This would also make it easier to find a category/activity if only 3 or 4 synced, instead of a couple dozen or more. I would think this would be better for the Watch performance as well. Thanks for your consideration of these suggestions. I took the time to write this detailed review because I really like this app and have high hopes for its future. Keep up the good work.
