Make the outfit planner screen space more flexible
I’ve been using the paid version of the app for 2 years now. It’s easy to add items even though the predefined categories are sometimes completely off. And adding a custom item means that the app doesn’t understand what it is and will show an empty box if you hit the “Possible outfits” button.
But what I really miss is the possibility of having the outfit planner screen space more flexible, so that I can add more elements and decide myself what size they should be on the screen and where they should be placed on the canvas.
I always know what to wear
Thank you Erin and the Cladwell team for a great tool to organising my wardrobe. I have seasonal wardrobes (summer, autumn, winter, spring, party, holiday, etc.) and know always what to wear. I love the statistics that help me monitor what I may not be wearing too often so I try to incorporate these items into my outfits intentionally. I highly recommend Cladwell, also as a ‘shop my own closet’ tool.
Update
Latest update was supposed to give the user more options - however I have lost most of the functions that worked for me.
Finding outfits based on an item is stupid because of a roll/scroll option instead of the previous overview.
Creating my own outfit made bothersome because of endless sideways scrolling.
And checking out an item against my existing wardrobe before purchase is also made impossible.
In the overview section I can see that I have X amount of unworn items, however I’m not able to see which.
I have an unused shopping section and would instead live more overview sections.
I am sure the app holds all the statistics on my wear and items - I would love if that was accessible to me instead… That’s why I bought the app in the first place, not to just jot down my daily wears!!
I have used this app daily for a year and now I’m about to let it go. It’s not exactly cheap....

Not good enough
Great idea. I agree that the outfits needs more options as stated in other reviews, my main problem is that the app often doesn’t work. Log in with facebook is 7/10 times impossible and sometimes when i log on, my clothing items has disappeared, not good enough for such an expensive app and a waste of time. Very happy to have had the trial period, I won’t be subscriping. Very disappointing.
Expensive
I’m glad there’s a free trial of this because phew. Also, I won’t be keeping the subscription I think, because for me it’s just too expensive considering that it’s not even possible to have the background removed on pictures you import of your closet items, leaving you with a less than desirable outfit layout.
The app looks good, but it’s just too much money in my opinion..
Good but missing features
I generally love the Cladwell app, and use it almost Daily.
However I find that the algorithm that puts together outfits is boring - it doesn’t really fit my style and is generally more conservative than I am.
Here are the things that I miss:
- A distinction between outerwear and cardigans/jackets you wear indoors
- Outfits with more than 4 pieces
- Possibility to wear dresses over pants (in the app)
- Better understanding of volder weather climates. I ALWAYS have to wear more than the app suggests to stay warm.
But really like the analytics and the closet overview.
Generally good
I love that the app in general focuses on optimising your use of your existing closet. This is defeated by the fact that the outfits now sometimes include an item I don’t own - a shopping suggestion. And it can’t be removed if you aren’t interested... annoying. I’m fine with shopping suggestions elsewhere in the app, but not in my planning outfits part.
I also experience quite a few app crashes and delays.
To end on a positive note: the app is a great idea and helps me use more of my clothes and see new ways to put it together - challenging me to try use a variety of different items rather than getting stuck in a rut.
