Here are some reasons why some players might think Clash Royale isn’t all that great:
1.Pay-to-Win Mechanics: While the game is free to play, players who spend money can often advance faster, upgrading cards and gaining an advantage in matches. This can create an imbalance where skill becomes secondary to spending.
2.Arena Progression Can Feel Frustrating: As you move up arenas, the competition can become much harder, and many players hit a “paywall” where they struggle to advance without spending money or grinding for hours. This can make the game feel repetitive and discouraging.
3.Randomness in Card Draws: The randomness of which cards you draw can sometimes feel unfair. You might end up with a hand that doesn’t match well against your opponent’s deck, leaving you at a disadvantage no matter how skilled you are.
4.Matchmaking Issues: The matchmaking system can occasionally pair you with players who are significantly stronger, either due to card levels or skill. This can make the game feel frustrating and less enjoyable if you’re constantly matched with someone who is too powerful for you.
5.Time-locked Progression: Some elements of the game, like unlocking chests or waiting for troops to finish upgrading, can feel time-gated. This can create a sense of slow progression, leading to frustration for those who prefer a faster-paced, more rewarding experience.
6. The people you play against:
You queue against a lot of ‘home-made’ decks which just consist of 8 of the most broken cards in the game. This can lead you into a spiral of insanity and can cause you to become frustrated and begin breaking things.

Game has a brilliant concept,  but clearly is pay to win in terms of evolutions, specifically the mega knight. This card is ridiculously overpowered with no effective counter and therefore to win or be even with those that pay to win, you must pay real money to get a mega knight at max level also

Just reached level 14 on all of my cards and 9000 trophies and the gameplay is incredibly engaging and addictive at least during the advance towards levelling up cards that interest you and creating unique decks can be a lot of fun however when every match you come across is just evo mega knight & evo pekka decks just forcing the meta to built around how to stop these two is just unplayable and if having 89% of my matches consisting of either mega knight, pekka or both when there are over 100+ cards in the game really puts into perspective just who supercell is catering there game towards. Just have fun with the game and buy anything to advance quicker it just makes you get the worst and grindy-est part of the game quicker. Hope this helps someone thinking about whether to spend money on this game just don’t.

This game WAS incredibly enjoyable and WAS hands down one of the best games on the mobile market. It has been ruined by Supercell. The numerous ads and extensive shop are one thing, but you now are at a significant disadvantage if you don’t pay to win. The amount of matches that I’ve had ruined by my opponent having two evolution cards which I could not possibly have know about is uncountable. You can be playing an even game or be winning, just for one of your opponent’s cards to level up and obliterate your towers. Its not enjoyable in the slightest. Although, I have moderate success nonetheless, this makes for incredibly poor gameplay and has singlehanded switched me off the game.

This game is for the weak, theres no need to attack because you can jus sit and wait to defend any attack with 1 elixir skeletons or 1 elixir spirits. ITS PATHETIC!!! Either buff the normal troops in this game or just throw this game away because it gets terrible the more you play it, and oh dont get me started on the pay to win trash.
