Great app!
This app has been a valuable tool while researching my family history in the Cleveland area from the mid 1850’s. The photographs of buildings demolished long ago help fill out the stories from my parents’ childhood.
Description
Cleveland Historical is a free app that puts Cleveland history at your fingertips. Developed by the Center for Public History + Digital Humanities at Cleveland State University, Cleveland Historical is a mobile application that provides an interpretive view of the region's history. Find interesting people, places and events in Cleveland history, and take curated historical tours of the city. Each point on the interactive location-enabled map includes historical information about the site along with historic images from Cleveland's top archival institutions. Many sites also include audio clips and short documentary videos based on oral history interviews from CSU's Cleveland Regional Oral History collection (clevelandvoices.org). Cleveland Historical is a collaborative project with stories created by teachers, students, professors, and community members, and curated by the Center for Public History + Digital Humanities. This app is very well put together. There is so much history, and detail about areas, and landmarks all around northeast Ohio. It’s a must for anyone living here or visiting.
Great resource for Clevelanders
Whether you want to know about local landmarks near you or follow a suggested tour this is a brilliant guide. It includes maps, photos, landmark descriptions and for some, audio clips of resident interviews. And it's free!

Essential For Clevelanders

Fantastic!
I absolutely love this app. It's like carrying around a Cleveland tour guide with you wherever you go. There are tons of POI's with new ones being added fairly regularly. Plus, it's quite a user friendly little app. The only thing I would ask for is support for landscape mode, which would make viewing some photos and videos a bit more enjoyable. All in all, a fantastic app that I hope all lovers of the CLE will use and support. Keep up the great work CSU!!!
