I can’t figure out how to find a word or change the word on display . Not a friendly program.
Expensive, but excellent product I thought would last me for many years. Little did I know I would have to change computers and Collins would not let me transfer the program to my new one. I cannot ever recommend a product that the publisher will not support. Totally wasted $25... I provided the order number and the receipt for payment and Ultralingua will not do anything to permit me to re-install. Horrible service!
Audio for the pronunciation takes three or more clicks to access. I wish there is a dedicated button for the audio of the word so that it is accessible in one click. The sound quality of the audio is not so good, often with the beginning of the word clipped.
There are too many words I can’t find, they need to increase the number of words. I can find more on the Larousse dictionary that is also much cheaper. For $15, they should have way more words.
I looked high and low for a good French dictionary app that was stable, didn’t crash, had good translations, and worked offline. This is the only one I could find that fit the bill. It’s not perfect but I’m happy to pay $15 for something that just works when I need it to.
A pretty amazing dictionary but extremely over-priced. Happy to have it
This dictionary translates words in a way that takes one to the various usages of the word more quickly than older versions of French-English dictionaries. The translations seem to be more to the point. And words are nicely matched up with expressions that have the word in it.
Unfortunately, thee app closes every time I try to conjugate a verb. It is a very pricey app that doesn’t work properly. Please fix the bug.
Over promised and under delivered. That’s this app in a nutshell. Lots of different words that I can find in other French-English dictionaries that are not present here. Difficult to navigate. Did I mention it’s convoluted and difficult to navigate? The “hear a word pronounced” feature that they have the gall to list as an in-app feature relies on you highlighting the word and asking iOS to “speak” it back to you. A huge disappointment all-round and definitely not worth the $15 paid.
This app is a must. It covers many expressions, idioms and common phrases in both English and French. There are lots of positive points that you can enjoy learning with it. But there is one drawback that somehow gets really disappointing and it’s the audio option in iphone platform that you have to hold the word to let the « speak » option pop up. Instead they can have a simple icon for listening to prononciation just by touching it. Hope it gets done in update.
