Looks nice - never calibrates
Azimuth never closer than rit degrees from the correct value. Calibration instructions do nothing. Too bad, it’s a good presentation
All these so-called compass apps are crap
No matter which app I tried, not single one worked. Whatever theses bosos are selling, they are WSY to complicated to operate. I’ve even tried to a compass app from Apple-no better results. I’m sticking to my trusty mechanical compass. Everyone- do not buy in to this crap.
Great Features
I occasionally use this app, but love it when I do. There are times it’s nice to know an elevation. I’m told that Toyotas are notorious for slow readings on speedometers. My Camry’s does, and I find it’s not off by a percentage or set amount. It varies in different ranges. And there’s a difference between my summer and winter tires, so it’s good to be able to confirm actual ground speed in heavily patrolled or photo radar speed zones. Only thing I’d change is the white characters on green terrain are hard to read. Maybe black or dark blue would be better.
Hunting
Great App I use while in the Bush hunting! It’s easy to get turned around if you are tracking Deer!
Great for navigating
Used in tandem with topo map for a hunting trip. Hands down best option for navigation if you don’t have a GPS with waypoint tracker. Kills battery though so best when close to power source (vehicle) Well done guys. Keep it up!
Great Instrument
Excellent compass and easy to use. Provides much more information than the typical compass App.
A compass not to be left behind
This compass gives you a look at the real world, not a map image. Some things look very different on a map then they do on the ground. I can use my army protractor with out having to convert mils to degrees. The only place I find it weak is in shooting a barring, I don’t know what fix you can do. My fix is to use a string on the compass & then use that figure to shoot that barring with a real compass, you now know what course to take. Since I can see objects then find them on the map, it’s now the only compass I use, but it adds an other dimension to ground navigation. Bill Sandford
