The app has become even more irrelevant last week as Getty introduced daily download stats. Of course these stats can’t be displayed in the app and the app now just gives you a link to their website where you need to log in again. Also, no checking of the single most important info for contributors: Royalties.

The app is super indirect with how it tracks and uploads content. I usually find it simpler to do it on desktop. Also, you’re unable to track your royalties on the app. The desktop version isn’t much better but it feels almost intentionally indirect. I’d recommend choosing a different platform for your stock images. Adobe or Envato are great choices!

I love the ease of the app. I was disappointed in this new update that it took away the ability to see the stats (sold & views). Please bring that back 😊

I am trying to sign up as a new contributor. When it asks you to upload photos for review, I click on the ADD button and an error message keeps popping up. It only lets me upload a link of my work from YouTube. Please help!

A frequently crashing, buggy and old style app with no upgrade for years.

No issues yet. I really like how the tagging section is intuitive when tagging photos. That’s great if you’re an unimaginative person like me who struggles to think up the best tags.

I find that the Contributor App is easy to use and intuitive. It makes uploading photos quick and efficient. Going from one photo to the next is easy even for someone who’s not really a computer person. Overall like using the app.

The app works really well, no real issues with it. Gettys is hit and miss though. I’m not sure if there’s a certain algorithm I haven’t hit or if it’s just what buyers are shopping when. So, unless you’re someone who can dedicate 10,000+ photos on dozens of topics or specialize in one, don’t plan on it being a steady form of income. However, I have hit it big a couple times in my 2+ years using the app/company, so don’t let me make you shy from using it.
